A car that is just 41,000 miles should not need it's transmission rebuilt at $4000.00. My wife took the car on Sunday and said it was acting funny. When I went to drive it to work Monday morning the car would go forward when I stepped lightly on the gas, but would simply rev the engine if I tried to accelerate. I tried 2 local mechanics, but they would not touch it. They said go to the dealer. The dealer said they were busy and could not look at it for 3 days, but called later that afternoon to say they did look and it needed the transmission rebuilt, or replaced with a rebuilt. To order a rebuilt would be 3 year warranty but take 2 weeks. To rebuild in the shop a 2 year warranty but be done by Friday. I needed my car, so chose the in the shop rebuild.
So far this car has been great. We bought it brand new and are the only owners. No major issues. We are normal drivers. We're not doing brake stands or dropping it from R to D just for fun. I still have 4 more payments left on my loan, and now had to pay 1/5 the cost of the car to fix it.
To be fair, the car runs well since yesterday, and the dealership people were as helpful and courteous as possible. But this should never have happened in the first place. How does a sealed component suddenly just go bad? No more Chrysler for me, ever.

Recently my car has been sputtering but only when I go up a hill and the rpms are at 200. Currently have it in the shop getting a tune up. Hopefully this fixes the problem. I'm just about done with this car....I should have bought a used car, think my luck would have been better

Second complaint on this vehicle. The car has been in the shop two weeks after purchasing it...come to find out the entire transmission had to be replaced. It was slipping while driving. I cannot believe that the car dealer sells a vehicle that needed a new transmission two weeks after driving it off of the lot. If the car dealership AND Chrysler knew that the transmission was a problem for this 2013 200, why not RECALL all of them? Get them off of the streets, they are unsafe. Now...for the third time I am taking the car back to the dealer for the SAME issue. After the transmission has been repaired, it is STILL slipping and shifting when it should not be.

i can see Chrysler has a big problem from 2010 - 2015. The transmission sucks.

Doesn,'t shift right when speeding up and when slowing down. Had it to the dealers six times but the computer doesn't show anything wrong..they finally took a ride with me and felt it but said the computer doesn't show anything so it must be the way this car shifts.

This is the first brand new car I ever chose to buy. Never expected transmission to go out at 1200 miles!!! This is why I thought buying a new car would be the best deal, to avoid break downs right away.

This rental from National definitely had a problem in terms of transmission slipping from reverse into neutral -- something I had never seen in a new automatic. Once had an old Volvo do this. During my rental periods (in June and July) this Chrysler would lurch from drive and then appear to be in neutral. That also happened when it was put in reverse. So you'd start in reverse and it would spin as if in neutral. Very strange. Also could be a danger.

First off, the transmission slips or get stuck. When driving it grinds and I have to pull off the road, put car in drive, cut it off and the start it again, then it stops. The last time my car lost power I was going 65 mph and the signal HOT OIL came on and stayed on. Then it did not go fast and I started smelling oil. RPM was at 7 and that is in the red. Then I put my emergency blinkers on and cut the car off and let it sit for about 20 minutes. It was very scary because I had my daughter in the car and she said I smell oil to Mommie. I need help on this and not where I have to pay for or some of it ... please respond back.
Love my car but also need transportation too. Desperately need help.
