Passengers headrest exploded spontaneously. I noticed this morning leaving my house heading to work as I was driving down my street a rattling noise and looked over to see the head rest had ejected! Thankfully I didn't have any passenger's in my car! I have no warning lamps other than low tire notification that refuses to go away after taking my car several times to make sure the tires are properly inflated and a check engine light that ofcourse came on today. I'm home and searched how to fix it and came across an article stating that I need to report this. I don't have any files. Just a pic of the headrest, current milage and notification lights. We purchased this car a couple short months ago (5/02/2022)

Vehicle was at detail shop - parked. Employee moved seat to access back and drivers side head rest deployed. There was no collision. Unable to reset, as part is broken. Appears to be a major safety concern which could lead to an accident. I will be attempting to address this issue quickly as it represents a major safety problem. It is available for inspection for now. Had this happened while driving I believe an accident would have resulted. I will be contacting the dealer and an independent shop on Monday. At this time it has not been inspected by anyone official. No warning signs were noted.

Active head restraints (ahrs) on driver's seat deployed spontaneously. Some broken plastic parts fell out. Luckily I was not in the car and noticed only when neck got uncomfortable while sitting.

2014 Chrysler 200 126K miles Sept. 8, 2020 slowing down for a red light. Approximately 25 mph. Heard a loud noise like a tire blowing out. Yet didn't feel anything. Immediately pulled over to inspect my vehicle outside and found nothing amiss. Entered vehicle on drivers side and looked over and saw passenger side headrest had deployed. This is not the first time. Rewind to November 2019 same car at 120K miles. Sitting in driveway. Vehicle parked and engine off. Key not even in the ignition. Sitting in the driver's seat. Heard a loud noise and my head was thrown forward in a very fast motion. Looked up to see if I had been rearended somehow and not another vehicle in sight. Got out of the car had a look and foind nothing out of the ordinary. Walked back to the car and noticed the driver's side seats headrest had exploded thus causing the loud noise and my head to fly forward. I have seen other past make and models for Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep have recalls all the way up to about 2013. How is this still an issue that has not been recalled yet, again" this is seriously concerning. What if I had been driving when the drivers side headrest deployed" what if I had one of my teenagers in the passenger seat or a passenger for that matter.

Takata recall. The airbag light keeps coming on and off on the dash, sometimes when I go to break. I have had it tested to make sure what it is. I was told by stark's it is a sensor in my headrest that is part of the airbag system, if it is on and I have a wreck they will not deploy. Started in may and is still going on.

I was alone in the car, driving on the freeway, when I heard a startling bang that came from the front passenger side. I saw that the headrest on the front passenger seat had deployed while I was driving. When I got home, I noticed several small pieces of black plastic on the front passenger seat cushion. Upon examining the headrest, it was obvious that the plastic which was supposed to hold a 2"-3" silver metal retaining rod had failed. That silver metal rod is still engaged in the electronic lock/release mechanism attached to the back of the head rest. The plastic pieces on the seat were from that rod retainer. I do not know if the heat of the Arizona summers are causing the headrest plastic components to weaken. I also don't know if this was an isolated incident, or the beginning of a trend. I shudder to think what would've happened if it was the drivers headrest that failed, hitting me in the back of the head while driving at 65 miles an hour on the freeway. Unexpectedly getting hit on the back of the head while driving could result in a serious accident! my Chrysler 200 had 38,110 miles when this occured; it is barely out of warranty. The defective headrest is still installed in the car. It appears the Chrysler part number is 68065766aa; manufactured by grammer (in gernamy) and their part number is 1192441. Removing the headrests turn on the airbag warning indicator. As I stated earlier, I fear that the driver headrest may also fail at any time and results in a serious accident. I contacted Chrysler requesting both of these headrests to be replaced under warranty and am awaiting a response.

I drove an enterprise rental car, Chrysler 200 sedan. I drove it for about 2-4 hours on an interstate highway, good road. When I got out I had a shooting pain from the middle of my left buttocks down the outside of my left leg. I've never had this sort of thing happen before. I tried to figure out if it was something else, but the only variable was sitting in that car seat. I am a mid-fifties woman in good condition. 5'7" tall, 150 pounds. Pretty average. A car seat shouldn't do this to a person. The car was an enterprise rental car, but I rented the car from alamo rental in the quad cities Illinois airport. They had to borrow a sedan from enterprise. The vehicle identification number on my contract is [xxx]. the rental ran from Oct. 11-Oct. 13. the contract says the vehicle had 1325 miles on it when I rented it, and 1864 when I returned it. I drove it about 4 hours each day of the rental. It was very painful and still is a day later. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
