Car delivered and purchased from mcclusky Chevrolet, smithj@online.cars, cincinnati, oh to farragut, tn on 02/25/2020 in excellent driveability condition. Car perfomance was excellent, driven daily until 03/03/2020 and always returned to home garage. When started the morning of 03/04/2020, the engine immediately raced to 4000 RPM in neutral. Tapping the brake lowered the idle to 1200 RPM, not the normal 850 (approximate). I backed the out of the garage uphill into the street. When engaged in drive the moment of starting acceleration the car gently accelerate itself with my foot off of the accelerator to about 40 mph in 1/4 mile. Tapping the brake stopped the acceleration and the car throttle returned to about 1200 RPM. After braking to a stop, I started to drive around the block and the car again accelerated by itself. With multiple brakes taps, I returned the car into the drive way. The next day, after starting the engine, the RPM again raced to 4000. Tapping the brake returned the RPM to 1200, similar to a cruise control return. In all cases the cruise control was not turned on and cycling the cruise button on and off had no effect. Cruise control mechanism maybe or maybe not be involved. I did an accutron code read and no codes returned. No attempt to try to fix or repair the problem was made. Car needs to be analyzed by NHTSA, not just repaired. It is hazardous. I used to teach physics and have performed most major car repairs since 1960. I wish to keep this Chrysler 200 S retractable convertible. It will stay in my driveway until analyzed by NHTSA.

I purchased the car in 2014. I have replaced the gas cap twice, the seal behind the gas cap and the gas light stays on. The engine light comes on often and the car runs rough, cutting out and jerking. It has done this since I bought it.

The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer's in-network repair facility (pro-tec automotive, 1902 blanding blvd, jacksonville, fl 32210) where it was diagnosed that the fuel was bad and needed to be emptied. In addition, a fuel injection service was required. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer stated that they would not be able to honor the warranty since the failure was due to bad fuel. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.

Smelled gas when parked after driving about 3 miles. Called mechanic who said safe to drive 4 miles to garage. He found a crack in top of fuel pump that was spraying fuel to bottom of back seat where my 11 yr old granddaughter was riding. Mechanic then said it should have been towed in. He then said he had never seen a fuel pump cracked like that so I'm reporting it. At that point mechanic said it could have been serious if rear-ended. $856 ready wed.

My vehicle just leaked all the oil completely. I know a significant oil leak checked the oil and their was absolutely nothing. I sent it in for repairs and it happened to be a broken oil cooler. My big concerns is if the oil wasn't cooling right/transferring I wonder what effect sit had on my engine. For a three year old vehicle that's a huge and sad defect.

I bought my car in March 2014 with only a few miles on it. I had my check engine light come on many times and I was told it was my gas cap. Well after a few months of this I noticed that my car would lose power and although I would press the accelerator my car continued to decline in speed. I have contacted the dealer and they told me to call and make an appointment when the check engine light came on. I tried to explain to them that this happens and it will last a few min to a few days. I was told well that"S odd you don't have any recalls or any complaints on your car. I even asked them about a replacement part that I came across that was done to my are right before I bought it and they told me they have no record. Sure is funny they did the replacement on it. Needless to say I have had my car over year and I can't get any answers on this issue. It"S super dangerous because it usually happens when I am going over 50 mpg......updated 09/22/15
