Both the driver and passaged (front seat) head rests have deployed. When looking inside them (parts are exposed since they have pooped and stayed open in a projected position) broken pieces are visible. Therefore, the headrests cannot be popped back into their proper position. This is extremely dangerous because the headrests could have deployed while we were driving. Also, the headrests no longer serve their purpose of providing safety to people riding in the front seat. There was no car accident or hit from the back. The headrests deployed (popped open like an air bag and cannot be closed) on their own. Many Chrysler 200 owners have complained about this safety issue. Chrysler should do something to help us consumers. I-??m disappointed.

The passenger headrest deployed without being in a crash. The car was parked. This could have caused injury if my passenger had her head rested. It also could have caused an accident if this happened while driving as it sounded like a gun shot or loud crash. No warnings went off.

Vehicle was at detail shop - parked. Employee moved seat to access back and drivers side head rest deployed. There was no collision. Unable to reset, as part is broken. Appears to be a major safety concern which could lead to an accident. I will be attempting to address this issue quickly as it represents a major safety problem. It is available for inspection for now. Had this happened while driving I believe an accident would have resulted. I will be contacting the dealer and an independent shop on Monday. At this time it has not been inspected by anyone official. No warning signs were noted.

Leaking oil from oil adapter housing. Hometown Chrysler told me that over 72,000 of these have been replaced. I was told that the car could catch on fire, so I left it a dealer to wait 2 weeks for the part. Why hasn't this become a recall?

While I am driving my car, my car will just shut off. I can be on the highway doing 75 and my car will just dead stop. I lose power in my steering wheel, my brakes stop working. You can't even push the brake pedal down. Sometimes the car will turn back on when I try, other times it doesn't. its been like this for the entire year ive had this car. Nobody can seem to figure out why.

My driver's side head rest had been falling down for the past two months. I was sitting in my driveway, when all of a sudden I heard a boom. I wondered what happened. I was parked. Then I found the headrest had pushed out totally, stuck out by a piece of metal. I could not push it back. I called Chrysler and they told me it would cost over $450 to reset it or get a new one. I tried to pull the whole headrest out, but it does not come out. I looked online and found there was a recall for cars up to 2013. But mine is a 2014. Does that make a difference? what is going on with these headrests. I've heard there are several complaints. I've had this car for 5 years and have one more year to pay for it. I am not trading it in. I feel chrsyler should fix this. For free.

The car has heat on the drivers side but does not heat or defrost on passenger side of vehicle, therefore cannot see out of passenger side windshield took to dealer and they say that the heater core needs replaced, $1500 later. I have researched online and this is a very common problem with the Chrysler 200 vehicles. I don't understand why Chrysler is therefore not responsible for replacing the heater cores.

I was wondering if a safety device in a car headrest, designed to jump forward in a rear end collision, is a safety device that falls under warranty. My wife had one that malfunctioned in her 2014 Chrysler 200. There was no rear end collision. She stopped at an intersection in a mall parking lot. The headrest deployed, throwing her forward into the steering wheel. Chrysler is saying that since her car is no longer under warranty she will have to pay for the replacement of this faulty part. Models up to 2013 were recalled for the same microchip malfunction in the headrests, but 2014 were not recalled.

Takata recall when ignition turned off keep getting alert saying that key is still in ignition causing my electrical system to fail. It is not allowing me to readjust mirrors or anything. Any electrical connection isn't working due to error message saying key is still in ignition. I locked my keys in the car several times due to this issue and I am afraid to drive far due to the electrical failure please look into this. The vehicle was running when the electrical failure began and I was over 300 miles away from home.

My car had a issue with one of the ignition coils malfunctioning causing the part to melt completely melt through the valve cover in Dec. 2016. This caused the car to stop while in motion and once I steered it off road, it smoked badly. At this time the car had about 52000 miles on it. As of June 2017, the recall dealing with the seatbelts and airbags have not been fixed nor looked at. I allowed the car to be returned via repo because I was out of nearly $1000 dollars paying the dealer to fix the car and pay for my own rental for two weeks while the Corp. Office send the ok for it to be fixed!!

I have a 2014 Chrysler 200 touring. "takata recall" my air bag light comes on and stays on, I took it to the dealership where they told me that something has malfunctioned but refused to fix it. I have been dealing with this problem since my car has reached 30,000 miles. Not only that problem but my alternator has recently gone out at 50,000 miles. I will definitely not recommend this vehicle to no one.

I have taken my car into the dealership to address the constant squealing of the brakes and the emergency brake indicator light randomly turning on. The dealership said there was nothing wrong with the brakes or the electrical system. The brakes are so loud and noisy that people can hear my car coming from far off, they sound like I own an old beat-up vehicle that has never been serviced. This car is brand new and should not be so embarrassingly loud each time I hit the brakes whether it's at a slow creep or on the highway. The emergency brake indicator light on the dash is also very concerning. At first the indicator light for the emergency brake would come on at the top of any hill or incline, like at the top of a ramp to enter the freeway. Now, the indicator light for the emergency brake randomly comes on at least once a day. I am afraid that one day the vehicle will try to engage the brake itself, or that my car will lock up while I am driving fast down the highway. The emergency brake has never been engaged manually by me except when I park at locations where I use the E-brake as a safety precaution. This should not happen while driving and especially if I haven't touched it. The dealership says there is nothing wrong, I beg to differ. The tire sensor for my passenger side, rear tire always says the tire pressure is low as well. It will say the tire is low about once a month, and it's always only this tire. I check the pressure with a hand gauge and all is fine. This vehicle obviously has some sort of electrical issue and the brakes are just horrid!! I would love to get rid of this vehicle but unfortunately with it being so new I am far from being able to do so. What a disappointment Chrysler!!

An electrical fire severely damaged my vehicle. The fire started while the vehicle was being driven. At the time of the fire no accessories were plugged in to the 12V power port. To the best of my knowledge the only accessories that were being used at the time of the incident were the A/C and the radio. The fire was extinguished by a homeowner, but the vehicle sustained heavy damage to the instrument cluster between the front seats. The car is still covered under the full manufacturers warranty, but at this point I am being told that this is not considered a warranty issue because they can not prove that the fire wasn't started by a device plugged into the 12V power port.
