I was driving in a school zone at about 15 mph when the car jerked then bounced 3 or 4 times. The slowed and when I pressed the gas the RPM's increased but the car did not accelerate. I pulled into a parking lot and put the car in psrk but the D was flashing as if it was still in drive. Warning light were also flashing. After several minutes I was able to restart the car an drive to work. Since then it feels like the transmission is always trying to change gears.

I am filing a complaint to express my frustration and anger. Also because it states on the recall notice I received that I can submit a written complaint if the dealership "fails to remedy this defect within a reasonable time". there is a recall on my vehicle, the transaxle park rod. The recall notice advised to contact the dealership on or after May 1, 2015 to schedule a service appointment. I did so a week later and brought my vehicle in on Saturday, May 16th. A few hours after dropping off my vehicle, I received a call informing me that my vehicle did not pass the recall test and that they needed to keep my vehicle for a few days. I then received a call the following Monday, May 18th and was informed that the part needed to fix my vehicle is on back-order!!! I called the dealership today because it's been two weeks now that I've been without my vehicle. They told me that the part is still on back-order and that we're on the waiting list. What the [xxx] is that"! I understand that my vehicle is being repaired without charge but this is an extreme inconvenience and is ridiculous. I don't understand how the part is not available or a limited supply of it. To hear the dealership tell me that they are unsure when they will be receiving the part and that I'm on the "wait-list" is very upsetting and frustrating. I even asked if I could just get my car and have them call me when the part arrives and they told me "no because it isn't safe to drive." Okay, I understand that, I get it, but I've been driving the vehicle for [xxx] near a year now, and had no safety problems with it. So why can't I have my vehicle in my possession? I just want my freaking car back!!! and not knowing a time frame is very unsettling. So please enlighten me on what Chrysler considers a "reasonable time" for remedying this defect" information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

9 speed transmission has issues. Upshifts 2 to 3 are harsh and sometimes slams in after waiting too long to shift. Worst, the vehicle actually accelerates when slowing down and downshifting from 5 to 4 (no foot on the throttle). This is repeatable consistently. Several times now during quick stops (I.e. someone walks out on the road) the vehicle had a burst of acceleration while hard braking. Dealer advises nothing they can do - Chrysler rep told them to tell customers "this is normal". unfortunately the unexpected burst of acceleration is not repeatable when needed. Vehicle has already been checked for recall and has gone through 2 software updates. Note: I do not brake with my left foot. During braking the car is accelerating on it's own.

In September of 2014 I purchased a new 2015 200S. In May 2015 I took my car in to get the recall work done and an oil change at my local dealership jerry ulm Chrysler of tampa and this is where my nightmare begins. Shortly after this visit, the check engine light came on. I took the car back and 3 days after this they replaced my transmission. I picked up my car after the transmission was replaced and I started to have issues with the car hesitating and it would almost feel like if I was driving a 20 year old car with a bad transmission. I took the car back and they stated that several other things were corrected. The car still has a serious issue when you drive, I took it back for a test drive with a tech. After the test drive he stated "the jerky drive is normal with this car". as I told him, if the car drove this way when I test drove it, I would have never purchased the car. I have been waiting for a resolution to the problem from the GM at jerry ulm Chrysler of tampa and to date I have not heard from him. The car continues to drive poorly and the other day as I was driving, the letter D started to flash and the car would not move. I was able to pull over to the side of the road safely. I wasnt able to power off the car or take it out of gear for almost 2 mins. It stopped flashing and I was able to put the car in park and I powered it off. After a few mins, I turned the car back on and it was working again.

On a few occasions going down hill on a highway, there is an unintended acceleration. Then the transmission will stall into gear going downhill as well. The engine will be at very high RPM for the speed I go which is 45-50. Often when I back out in reverse, the brakes make a humming noise.

Purchased card in July 2014. First occurrence, 5 April; 2nd occurrence, 1 may; 3rd occurrence, 15 May. While slowing down (approx. 45mph) transmission shifts from drive to neutral. Had to move to slower lane, stop, shift to park and then to drive. The last time it happened 3 times in 2 hours, hazardous road warning light appeared. Dealer has changed transmission control module, tested "pin connectivity", contacted Chrysler Corp, car still in the shop. Each time the dealer test drove it, they experienced the same conditions. Not sure of next step.

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the air bag light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The dealer stated that an unknown sensor was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred on five separate occasions. The contact also stated that when he accelerated and shifted gears, he could hear a loud rattling noise coming from the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. They were unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 1,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the transmission failed twice. The service transmission light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The failure prevented the vehicle from shifting into gear. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and it was determined that the trans axle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure still occurred. The contact stated that the transmission needed to be replaced and that the transmissions were on back order because this was a known issue. The vehicle had not been repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was unknown. MA 08/06/15 updated 10/17/2017

Driving down the highway during rush hour traffic at 45 mph, the tranmission went into neutral even though the selector was in drive and did not allow me to accelerate at all while the car proceeded to slow to a stop. The "service transmission" message, check engine light and other messages appeared. It required me to stop my car, restart it in order to drive it again. This is a very serious safety concern. It also gets stuck in 4th gear (limp home mode) which is also dangerous because the engine has very little power when you stop and it prevents you from accelerating at the rate of traffic. It is also extremely hard to drive up hills.

I was driving along a two lane hwy doing about 50-55mph when suddenly the service transmission light came on. I lost throttle capability and basically I was now coasting on a windy and hilly road. I was able to pull off at a safe place before I stopped. The transmission would not shift into park and though the selector still indicated "P" it was really in neutral because if I took my foot off the brake my car rolled backward. My parking brake wouldn't engage at first either. I held my foot on the brake as I called roadside assistance. At this point I was concerned I wouldn't be able to exit my vehicle. As I was talking with roadside assistance I kept trying to put the car into park and/or engage the parking brake. Finally the parking brake worked and I was able to take my foot off the brake. I then decided to try to restart the car. When I turned the car off the transmission defaulted to park. So now I was safe to exit. Once the car was restarted the transmission would not shift out of park. Waited nearly 3 hours for a tow.

This is a follow up on previous complaint shown below. Vehicle has been at the dealer since May 7,2015. Originally informed by the dealer where vehicle was purchased that it would take a couple of weeks to get a replacement transaxle. I contacted Chrysler customer service on May 20,2015 and was informed that the earliest they can get a replacement would be June 26,2015 and possibly as far out as August of 2015. Vehicle is currently at dealership. Repair and return is unknown at this time. "received a recall notice about an issue with the transaxle park rod late April 2015. Took it to the dealer where we purchased the vehicle. Where informed that the recall repairs could not be performed until after May 1, 2015 needed a specific tool that had been ordered. They did inspect the vehicle and said that it was safe, make an appointment for after May 1st. On May 7, 2015 my wife was driving on the highway at approximately 70 mph when she said the dash warning lights started going off and warning bells started going off. The warning said "service transmission" then would flash to "shift to park and engage parking brake". the transmission seemed to have shifted into neutral. The car was running but did not have any forward momentum. This message continued over and over. She had to go over 3 lanes of traffic before she could get to the side off the road to a safe spot. She immediately put on the hazard lights when this happened but had to Dodge traffic. Once she was stopped the shifter dial was still lit up that it was in drive, she moved it to park but still was lit up that it was in drive. She put on the parking brake and turned the car off. She waited a few minutes and started the car again. The shifter dial now showed to be in park, she tried to shift to all the other gears, the car would not move and the dial still showed it was in park."

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15V090000 (power train) and stated that the part was not available within a reasonable timeframe to schedule the recall repair. The dealer did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. The manufacturer was contacted and could not provide an estimated date for when the contact's vehicle would receive the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.

While driving on the highway at about 65mph, the car shut off as we coasted to a stop. Car was inoperable. We tried restarting the car, but was unsuccessful. All electrical features, including the gear shift knob were inoperable. We gave it time and attempted to restart vehicle a number of times. We finally succeeded half an hour later. All appeared to be well. Not sure if this has been a common issue, but it is a concern of ours. There has been a number of recalls on their vehicles and it behooves me that there is no law that makes these car manufacturers responsible for buying back their vehicles. My husband and I bought a new vehicle, believing it would be the safer thing to do. I have a teenager, an infant and another baby on the way. It is so scary to have babies in a vehicle you no longer feel safe in, knowing their frailties if an accident were to occur.

My finance and I went on trip to Tennessee. On the expressway I was driving around 70 miles per hour. The car started to slow down on it own in the middle of traffic. It dropped from 70 to 60 and then to 45 without me doing anything. It started shifting gears automatically on it owns. Then I pushed the gas and it went back up to 70. Once we arrived to Tennessee we had to go up mountains and the car started to stall again in the mountains. This was very scary. As I was going into the mountains the car almost stopped while driving. The car kept shifting gears even when I am barely pressing the gas. I had to pull over and shut the car off and start it again. The car started stalling the first day of purchasing it but I thought it was suppose to this until it did it on the express way. I have a brand new car that I am afraid to drive it on long distance trips because of this issue. Talk about disappointing.

The car lunged when it upshifted into 2nd and 5th gear. It also lunged when downshifting, almost causing me to Ram into the back of another car. Both are worse when the car is cold. I took it into a dealer. They told me they updated the software. The transmission was maybe a little different, but not much. I am so tired of my neck bouncing around while upshifting and afraid of an accident while downshifting. I took the car into a different dealer last month and he said all the software was up to date and there was nothing he could do. He said I should have to deal with Chrysler.

I am leasing the Chrysler 200C.I leased it in October 2014, within the first month it was back with check engine light and check transmission light. Next one headlight and back light would stay on when car was off and then sometimes both headlights would stay on when car was off.brought car back to service due to this and check engine light on again was told there was a recall on my car it was the RO8 parkrod.I was then told false alarm there is no recall I was given back car.I got in touch with Chrysler customer care to find out about this and I was told to drive the car see if check engine light came back on.while driving on an interstate the car began to bounce, steering wheel tightened, speed dropped to zero, RPM went up, and nothing happened when I tried to accelerate. I was able to pull over to shoulder.I am still trying to get car fixed.

On Sunday, April 12th at 5:30am, I was driving southbound on I-94 at 65mph when all of a sudden I lost all power to my transmission. My gas pedal was useless & I had to coast off the expressway to the shoulder (I was in the far left lane & the shoulder there is too narrow). If this had been at a different time, I would have no doubt been killed (as well as others I'm sure), for I wouldn't have had the room or momentum to coast onto the shoulder & would have been struck from behind. Chrysler wants the car fixed & not even the dealer knows exactly what is wrong, citing it as a 'shotgun fix'. and, I'm on an expressway (or two or three) everyday. This car is a danger & it will no doubt do this again.
