I purchased this vehicle from the dealer four months ago. In that time I have had some unpleasant experiences. At first it was little things, such as not being able to start the car, or the keyfob didn't work correctly. Although those were nagging they were easily dealt with. Last week I was driving down the street doing about 40mph, and the cars display started throwing error messages, such as service transmission. The car felt like it had stalled and I had no power to the gas, brake or steering wheel. Luckily I was not on the highway when this happened or the likelihood of me getting in an accident would be very high, being that this was in the evening. So, I am stuck in the middle of the road with a car that still has accessory power, but I was not able to shift the car into park, or drive. I was able to shut the car off and restart it fine, but again couldn't shift. After about 20 minutes the car shifted into gear, and I was able to drive it, albeit very slowly since the engine would not rev past 2000 rpms. I checked for any service bulletins and see this has been an issue for several people. There was not a fix associated with this. I brought the car in to your service department, and they were not able to recreate the issue. So, now I am stuck with a brand new car with roughly 2200 miles that I'm afraid to drive. If/when this happens again I hope I'm not on the highway or any road actually as the chance of an accident is very high. I don't feel safe. I have never had something like this happen to me, so I honestly don't know how to proceed.

Drove vehicle 25 miles from home, parked for 2 1/2 hours, started vehicle shifted it in reverse, the service transmission notification came on the driver display, backed the vehicle out of the parking spot and shifted the vehicle into drive the gear indicator said the vehicle was in 4th gear as I drove the car forward the transmission remained in 4th gear without shifting, I drove the car about 1 mile like this. I parked the car in a safe place, shut it off, called Chrysler roadside assistance, restarted vehicle, put in gear, all was normal, drove 4 miles, transmission stuck in 8th gear, pulled over turned off car, restarted after 5 minutes, drove vehicle remaining distance home. Next day drove vehicle to modesto, ca dealership without problem, dealer had car for 7 days, they said they replaced transmission control module and updated software. Pick up vehicle drove it, noticing that shifting felt different than before the problem, not as smooth. On December 18, 2014 while driving vehicle, the service transmission advisory came on again and the vehicle was stuck in 2nd gear, stopped vehicle as before, restarted and was able to drive back to dealership, where the vehicle is now. The service manager advises me that they are working with Chrysler engineers, but are not having much success with an answer to the problem.

While on the bronx river parkway felt something funny on the dashboard shows transmission and car just cruising not doing nothing when pressing gas pedal. I don't know what to do but I told them that I really don't want the car back if it's possible for a different one they said its fixable it's just a wire problem I believe and I can't just change car like that I just got it but my point is this what to expect in the future I buy brand new car for a reason if old cars better why not returning I need help if possible.

Vehicle accelerates 2 to 3 mph when transmission downshifts from 8th gear to 7th and from 5th gear to 4th making it difficult to judge stopping distances and making turns. This happens when foot is off the accelerator.

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, the gear shaft independently shifted and caused the vehicle to jerk and stop. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission module needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. In addition, the contact mentioned that the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,900.

At about 3,000 miles, whenever I would put the transmission into park, the car would roll backwards or forwards. This happened consistently until I took it to the dealer for repair at 9,300 miles. The only way to keep it from dangerously rolling was to always have the emergency brake on. When I took it to the dealer, two service writers verified the problem by rolling the car when it was in neutral, but the mechanic said they said they couldn't replicate the problem and said the car was fine. As I drove it away, while still on the dealer lot, I parked (placing the car in park, of course) and got out of the car to ask the service writer one additional question. As I walked away, the car rolled forward about 25 feet and crashed into a new Chrysler can on the dealer lot ' causing damage to my car and the new dealer car. My experience fits exactly with the following Chrysler recall from April of this year: April 2014 -- Chrysler group llc (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2014 Ram 1500 4X4 vehicles manufactured January 24, 2014, through February 5, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the transmission case may have been improperly machined which can result in the park pawl not properly engaging when the transmission is in the 'park' position. If the park pawl does not properly engage, the vehicle may rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash and occupant or pedestrian injuries. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the transmission, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in May 2014. Chrysler's number for this recall is P13.

During launch of 2015 Chrysler 200 at sterling heights assembly plant vehicles have had at least 30 torque failures or no reads for critical joints. Therefore torque would have to be verified manually. Unfortunately the company has not provided the proper sockets to the wrenches to verify the joints. Despite this management has pressured supervisors to leave no defects on the line. This environment has caused supervisors to buy off on unverified torque on critical safety joints.
