My vehicle has now lost power 2 times in the last week. Both occasions have been right after leaving my residence. The main road by my house is a highway where vehicles travel anywhere between 55-70mph. The power is lost when I start to accelerate from a stopped position. The first time I was entering the highway and at about 20mph my car would no longer accelerate(keep in mind I had vehicles traveling at the much faster rate of speed as stated above). I ended up pulling onto the grass median. Putting my vehicle in park, turning it off and back on. All seemed fine after that. The second time I was at the stop sign at the same highway getting ready to cross to the center median to turn left. I started to accelerate and immediately my car stop and messages about a brake service and service trans started flashing on my console. I put the car in park and turned it off and back on. All was fine after that. What concerns and terrifies me is what if I had lost power in the middle of the intersections with vehicles coming toward me at 70 mph? this is such a major safety concern and these vehicles should not be on the road until parts are available and the issue is fixed. I'm taking my car in to the dealer tomorrow and insisting it either be fixed or they give a loaner. I will not put me or my family at risk.
