This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Chrysler dealer.
I have a 2015 Chrysler 200 with the airbag warning light on, first intermittently and now constantly, starting at just 17500 miles. I have taken the car for repairs 5 times to a Chrysler dealer who did various repairs on warranty but never fixed the problem, all over about two years time. On my 6th visit I was told the warranty was expired and any further repairs would be at my cost. I objected and called Chrysler Customer Care for a warranty extension which the dealer said they would cover. Chrysler (FCA) said I needed to get a diagnosis even though I had brought the car in for 5 previous diagnoses and they don't usually pay for this. Reading other complaints suggests a long, expensive road with multiple attempts to fix and no final solution.
Why hasn't the NHTSA taken action? I have seen many similar complaints and filed one myself with no response. Airbag problems with this car have had recalls but only for certain vin numbers, not mine.

I was driving my car and the check airbag/system light came on. This would beep and alert me like every 5 minutes. The next day while driving my car starts to shut off while operating. This is extremely scary as I was almost rear ended several times. I scheduled an appointment to service this issue. Of course, the appointment date a couple weeks out. I Googled my issue and just so have it that many people have experienced the same issue. So I checked my wiring underneath the seat and made sure wires were connected. Start up the car and the service light was no longer visible. I drove the car around and it did not cut off any longer.
Why would a service airbag sensor make the car shut off during operation? This is extremely dangerous!!

The problem was reported to the dealership (Russell Westbrook Van Nuys) twice while still under warranty. They "fixed it" but, the Service Air Bag light keeps turning on.
The transmission also hard shifts constantly. I regret having purchased this vehicle.

The airbag light would be lit at any given time. It would stay on for weeks and go out for a few weeks then lit again. It was really a bother because it wasn't safe and I couldn't work my part time job because my car needed to pass inspection.

I purchased a 2015 Chrysler 200 in February 2017' since then in the last 3 months it continues to show FOB and won"t start for awhile; it shows check air bag system frequently' the fob often doesn't open the doors or the truck. I have a 2005 Altima that cost me only $150.00 in repairs in the past 12 years. purchased new.

To the Chrysler corporation
I contention to get protection plan office from covert chrslyer on rsearch blv in Austin, Texas. I, a complaint about their service.
1. I got a air bag light on my Chrysler, 2015, 200, they said it was built wrong but it would cost me nearly 3000.00 to get it fix.
2. They said that they do not recommend, but can fix it for 500.00.
3. I when on line and fix the problem myself in 10min by under plug wire to reset the system.
4. If it was that easy why the tech could have done that the first time I visitation.
