Got this car new in August 2016. It is a 2016. I have had numerous non starting episodes. I finally got fed up and had the car towed to the dealer and they have it now for a week. The problem is on a cold start it will only tick tick tick. Then after a few tries 1 to 11 it will start. The dealer said it had to be in the non working condition for them to put the diagnostic tester on it. The tow driver started it in order to put it in neutral to put it on the tow bed. So it still started up for the mechanic each time he tried it.
I've call Chrysler headquarters in Michigan and now I have a case worker and a ticket open on it. I will not pick the car up until they say it is fixed. Chrysler is paying for the tow, repairs and rental car. We have lemon laws in California and that will be my next avenue if the problem is not fixed. My car has only 6,926 miles and I like everyone I know needs a dependable car especially after spending $31,000. This is my 3rd Chrysler product and the first to give me these headaches.
I even bought a new battery after only 1 year just to eliminate that issue. It will start for 2 months straight and then have an issue 2 mornings in a row. One time I thought maybe I didn't have the key fob so after it went tick tick tick I started to get our of the car one foot out the door no finger on the start button and no foot on the brake and it STARTED. Very dangerous!!!! and sometimes the key button on the door handle will not work to lock it.

Car will not start. I have had this issue two days in the row now. Getting ready to drop off the car at the dealership where I purchased it. We will see what they say. I will keep you posted.

The car randomly won't start. Must call the dealership to tow to nearest facility and arrange for loaner. Every time I get the same old song and dance that its been fixed, yet it fails to start a few days later. Repeat this scenario every week.

I was driving when all of a sudden it lost power on the busy interstate and would not start again. So had it towed to a Chrysler dealership as I felt they should be able to repair it, but nope! They had it for almost two weeks trying to repair it.
They first put in a variable timing actuator. That did not work so they said that new one was defective and had to order another one. Put that in and it still would not start. So then they said I needed a new PCM module, ordered one and put it in and stated that was a defective part as well and ordered another. Put that one in and it still would not start.
Car engine had no compression. They researched it further only to find that a crank wire had been pinched. Now I would need either a new engine or a cylinder head, depending on the damage inside the engine. After having to take it apart further to see if there was any damage to the pistons, etc., they asked if I had any work done on it previously. I told them that Midas had put new clamps on my coolant hoses to fix a coolant leak. Now my car is at Midas as Chrysler all of a sudden shifted the blame on them and stopped everything.
No one is admitting to anything now but I am extremely disappointed in my 2016 Chrysler 200!!! I am still without wheels and am extremely unhappy with everyone involved. I need wheels back or else someone needs to buy a another car!!!!! How can a pinched wire cause all this going on??? 2016 Chrysler 200 vehicles are awful and I will never be purchasing another one ever!!!!
