The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler 300. After filling up the gas tank, the vehicle stalled. The failure occurred three previous times. The dealer stated that they would replace the entire gas tank at the cost of $100. The failure mileage was 20,000 and current mileage was 35,800. Updated 4/21/08 the consumer stated after the fuel tank was replaced, the vehicle runs great. Updated

I have a 2005 Chrysler 300C with a potential catastrophic defect. During a routine service check, I informed the service manager that I detected an odor of gasoline at the rear of the car. During the inspection, I was informed that the gas tank was leaking from the seams and that he would not allow me to drive the vehicle until the gas tank was replaced at my expense.

2005 Chrysler 300M/C, engine fails after gasoline tank is filled. Has occurred three times in the past 30 days. Dealer states they cannot duplicate problem. Car has presently been at the dealer for more than a week, and they advised they are going to replaced the gas tank.
