Pulled in driveway on 7/7/15 after picking us at Hendricks Chrysler dealership for misfiring problem and put in park and car kept rolling. Put in neutral and still rolling. Cut off engine to retrieve my mail out of the mailbox and shifter was stuck in "3" . Engine wouldn't start because it wouldn't come out of gear. Towed back to Hendricks and after days they decided the "cable gear" had to be replaced for $290.58. This is plastic clip on the end of the transmission cable going to the shifter. Car picked up 7-15-15. No more Mopars

Yesterday, I went out to start my Chrysler 300 to head to work and the gear shift would not work. When I called a Chrysler Dealer about it he told me that in fact, several vehicles had been recalled with this same problem. However, when he looked up my VIN it was not listed as one of the vehicles available for free repair. Go figure. So I contacted Chrysler about it. They gave me case manager who soon returned my call. He told me that although my vehicle was having the same problem as the rest of the vehicles it was not made in the same plant as the other malfunctioning vehicles so there was nothing they could do for me. Now, I am stuck paying the $900 bill to get this damn car fixed. It is the first Chrysler I have ever bought and it will certainly be the last. I hope one day Chrysler goes out of business for how awful they treat their customers.

MY CAR BROKE DOWN IN LOS ANGELES. I SENT IT TO JE MUFFLER IN VICTORVILLE CA (BY TOW) AND THEY DIAGNOSED IT WITH TRANSMISSION MODULE MAY NEED SOLENOID. AND CHRYSLER SAID OK AND IS CHARGING ME $490.00 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE MECHANIC AT J E MUFFLE JAVIER (760-843-3439) SAID THIS WAS THE THIRD CAR HAS HAD WITH THIS PROBLEM. IF YOU GO ONLINE THERE IS A LOT OF INFORMATION ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I CALLED THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND THEY SAID THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE 2006 TRANSMISSION BUT, NOT FOR MY VIN NUMBER. THAT IS THE CRAZIEST THING IN THE WORLD.

The manufacture should do something about this problem, becuase I know they-know. The 300 is a nice car and this is the only problem I have with it. A recall is needed to fix this now. I'm going to the better business bureau next if there is no help.

I have done research on this model and year and there is definitely a widespread issue with the electrical/transmission on these cars. I believe it is a widespread chrylser problem that they have ignored. At times my car will not accelerate from a dead stop or while cruising. (very dangerous)
Also on occasion during a complete stop the car will idle like someone is shaking the car and then the gas pedal/engine will not respond quickly to the gas being pushed.
A truly annoying problem and something that I should not be dealing with when a car only has 37 000 miles on it..

5/09/15 Car started, gear shifter would not move out of park. Restarted car. Car shifted to reverse, backed out of driveway, shifter would not move past neutral. Shut the car off, restarted, after causing major road backup (I live on a semi-main road) shifted to drive and drove to school. Engine light came on and would go out immediately every time i shifted in and out of a gear. Oil light came on at idle. My school is only down the road (I was a junior in high school and now a senior) so I parked and shut the car off.
5/13/15 Car started, started clacking and wouldn't shift. I decided to back in when I got home in case the shifter wouldn't move. Pulled out and oil light came on at stoplight. The engine light flashed when car shifted to second gear. It had rained both times before so I guessed that there was a rogue sensor that was shorted out. After school, I walked out and the car started, sputtered and idled rough. I shut the car off and restarted, car settled at 850 rpm and I drove home.
6/13/15 (aka my birthday) Car had been doing the same thing for a month. On the 13th, car wouldn't budge. I was on my way to my birthday dinner. No matter how many times I started the car, it wouldn't shift. I checked the fluids and the transmission fluid was empty. I panicked, filled it to the max line which I had done just a week prior. The car started and idled rough. I checked the oil, very low, filled the oil up to the max line. Car started again and shifted to the L position. I drove to the restaurant, an 80 dollar shirt ruined with oil and fluid, and an hour late. When I came out the car's oil light came on, not when the oil was low, go figure. I checked the oil again, it was below the min line. Luckily, my dad was there and his car had just been fixed for consuming oil, so he had some with him. But 4 quarts in 20 miles! I was mortified. I drove home, my mother tailing me so I wouldn't get stuck. I backed in and shut the car off for the night.
6/20/15 Car wouldn't budge again, that was my last final of junior year and I was almost late. I filled up the fluids again for the last time ever. I drove to school, took the test and when I came out, nothing. Car wouldn't start. I was towed to Town & Country Chrysler in Massapequa, NY where, not even looking at the car, the mechanic knew my engine had seized. Oil was gone. In less than 4 miles, gone. I've read problems the car has, but none as terrible as mine. I got all the problems at the same time. Oil sludge, and transmission failure. But 5 quarts in 4 FREAKING MILES. I was done. Fed. Up. Now, My mom bought this car new for just under 40 grand. I really miss it and I sold it to the dealer for parts for 2300. I bought a 2001 Volvo V70 XC and it hasn't wronged me. I would love a new 300 or even the T & C looks nice but I can't afford it at the moment. Chrysler has refused to return my calls and looked the other way on the recall because my vin wasn't included. Oh well, live and learn.
