About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
The vehicle was parked. We got into the vehicle to drive and the car would not shift out of "park". after doing research, and learning it was an issue with the park release button, we were able to manually get the car into "drive". this was necessary because we were parked at the er of a hospital. Since we couldn't put the car in "park" and we weren't able to get it to a mechanic right away, we would put it in "neutral" and use the emergency brake. The problem is the emergency brake started failing, which seems odd since it was only used a few times.

Since Feb 2012, the electronic throttle control (etc) light comes on when the car is first started & idling. After the car warms up & is restarted, it seems to run ok. If I try to drive the car before it warms up, the etc & the anti-lock break lights come on. The engine loses power & control of the steering & brakes. After a couple occurrences, on 21 Feb 2012, I had the car towed to the dealer (tate Dodge Chrysler Jeep, Inc. In glen burnie, md). After being at the dealer for 2 wks & $180 in service fees, the problem was not resolved. Since 2012, the problem has continued to occur more often. Now it occurs every time I start the car.

I bought this 2007 Chrysler 300 in 2008. It had approximately 86,000 miles on it. Before it reached 100,000 miles the problems had already started. First the ABS and traction control lights and another light located on the right side of my panel came on. My car was locking me out at any moment. First I thought it might have been my fault but it happened twice to me while my car was running and my keys in the ignition!! well, I thought to myself, " I know I didn't hit the lock button before I got out of my car, so when it happened the second time I went home and sit in my garage and I sat and watched. All of sudden my car started locking and unlocking all by itself and on the outside with my keys watching this thinking "I was right"!!!! well not only was the car acting crazy, it started acting up when I pull out of any road like it didn't want to go, and I was thinking to myself, "I am eventually going to get ran over because my car wont go!!!! during these incidents the ABS and the traction control lights would come on then go off and come back on again. I never knew what it was going to do. Certain times going down the road it would do the same thing and it was acting like the wheels was going to lock up!!! until this very day, 08-05-2014 it still has these problems. I wish I had never bought it and ill never buy another Chrysler or Dodge ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally made the call after 6 years of this crap and the lady I spoke to says, "there are no recalls on this particular car. Well Chrysler!!?? I wish you would buy this burden back and sell it for scrap!!! its been the biggest burden I have had ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there has been more problems with this vehicle but so much has happened that you need to drive it to find out for yourself!

Every time I either turn a corner or back out of my drive the ABS and traction control light lights come on and stay on. I was told that there is no safety issue, but I noticed that there was a recall on my make and year but I missed the recall by a month. And since this is so, did they fix the problem with the manufacturer? also, I will have to had to fix my interlock shift now for the second time in two years come this Thursday. I am worried about not being able to get my car out of park and move out of the way in an emergency. I am going to utilize social media to see if I can get more people to complain to you all and also to Chrysler to get this costly and possibly dangerous problem fixed.

Vehicle was parked;vehicle would not shift from park, immediately after driving.vehicle towed to hendrick Chrysler for repair.vehicle was recalled, Feb.2007 ref.#F50. I purchased same from listed dealer,10-12-2007 and vehicle was not serviced reference the noted recall before selling to me(months later);I was never advised of same recall.my vehicle meets all criteria for recall, I.e.,time of manufacture, VIN. Number specifications, plus, same symptoms noted in recall matches my breakdown symptoms(plus the un-reprogrammed computer factors into the breakdown.I have documentation of same).I called Chrysler today for repair reimbursement costs and a [xxx], hid behind the"typical" Chrysler response to this issue that I have read in numerous reviews on-line about this problem, being:"your VIN. # does not fall within range." I have paperwork which was on www.safecars.gov, that states otherwise.also, I have all needed documents to rebut the idea that my VIN.# disqualifies my claim'some generated by Chrysler.yet Chrysler believes it only has to use words to me and others to escape any and all product responsibility.
