When I put my car in gear, drive or reverse, a 2 to 3 second clicking noise comes from the transmission area. I took it to the dealer and they said it was common in Chrysler vehicle. They said it was a box with several solenoids clicking through its sequence. The sound is very noticeable in garages.

Transmission bangs when shifting gears while driving. When shifting gears from park to drive, sometimes it makes a big bang/knock going into gear. Also, engine has died while waiting at a stop light. Engine RPM needle fluctuates when driving.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler 300. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle slipped into a lower gear and dropped down to 30- 40 mph. The contact heard a continuous grumbling noise and the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but they could not determine the cause of the failure. The check engine light dimmed, but the failure recurred. The current mileage was 620 and failure mileage was 120. Updated 04/23/08.
