problem #1

300 LX 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

the car's power suddenly failed and wouldn't climb a moderate hill. I ducked into a driveway, turned the car around and chose a flatter course to an auto repair shop. Barely made it into the shop. Why would a crank sensor go out? I've never experienced sludge problems as so many others have and the car gets 31.5 mpg at 70 mph.Now after reading all these bad things I think I'll sell it.

Update from Dec 30, 2011: I paid $1400 to get the cam chain and the water pump replaced before a disaster occurred.I think it was the best I could do. I expect this car to be my last one and it is really great on the road.
