This is the 4th time I've had a problem with the sunroof in 18 months. The first two times they recalibrated the software, but then it only worked for a short period of time. In October 2015, they replaced the sunroof motor (I had complained to Chrylser Corp. and got the motor installed at no charge since I had brought in the car two times prior for the same problem) and it had been working fine until yesterday. The sunroof is stuck in the tilt position (fortunately, not full up tilt...only about half-way tilted) and there is no power to the sunroof. I showed up at Silver Spring, MD dealer today without an appointment and they said they didn't have any openings for 3 weeks. Three weeks?? Really? So, I'm supposed to drive/park my car with the sunroof stuck open for 3 weeks??! After calling Customer Care (800-992-1997) to get the issue documented, they offered to call other local dealers to get a sooner appointment. One was available in a week at a different dealer (New Carollton), but then I was able to get an appointment for this Saturday at a 3rd dealer (Rockville). As far as the "new" part installed last October, it is borderline whether it will be covered under the Silver Spring warranty (12 months/12,000 miles). Not sure whether Rockville will charge me the diagnostic fee (that's if they just reset the software - what about longer term and recurrences??), but if they do, I will complain to Customer Care and try to get it reimbursed/waived. I am already thinking of getting rid of this car (this is my 2nd Chrysler 300) and going American.
