The ABS control module for several Chrysler vehicles is unavailable for purchase at this time. The ABS is effectively disabled as a result of lack of parts. When I spoke with a dealer parts department, there were hundreds of these modules backordered with no fulfillment date available. The part numbers necessary for my specific vehicle are 68195727aa (original) and 68210119ab (replacement). I am concerned with the loss of anti-lock braking ability for hundreds of Chrysler vehicles.

The contact owned a 2013 Chrysler 300. While driving 53 mph, the vehicle lost power without warning and resumed independently; however, the brakes failed to respond without warning. As a result, the contact crashed into a cement barrier, rolled over, and landed in a ditch. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact and the front and rear seat passengers sustained facial lacerations and back injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V634000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 41,000.

The ABS and transaction light came on. Called a local dealer who said bring in for service. Three miles up the highway the car suffered a total system failure. The vehicle would not go into park or any gear. The towing company had problems flat bedding the car to my dealer route 18 Chrysler in East brunswick NJ. Upon repair the dealer indicated that left driver side ABS system failed. The onboard computers stored dttc codes both for the transmission and ABS systems. No one knows why the transmission failed to allow the car to be driven. There is a major safety flaw in this vehicle that is going to result in a fatal crash. I am lucky to be alive. Chrysler was notified of this problem by me. Updated 9/25/15 updated 12/28/2015

I received a notice that my 2013 Chrysler 300 was under a recall for alternator issues. I already had noticed that my vehicle warning lights had flashed the alternator with the lightning bolt twice recently. Then my cruise went out, ABS service light came on and stayed on and my traction control light came on and stayed on. The days after I reviewed the recall notice I schedule an appointment to have my car services at [xxx] in savannah ga, off abercorn St. When the service person took my car I identified the issues and he said that he will check it over to include checking the wheel sensors. Noting the wheel sensors specifically, made me a bit suspicious. Later he called me and stated that a wheel sensor went bad and it was not relational to the recall notice. He said he has the part and it would be $187 to fix it. I stated that the notice states that the wheel sensor could be impacted. He said, no sir it reads the module not the sensor and they are not close to each other. I find this technicality not fair to the consumer and I feel that this should be included in the recall. My car has 39K miles on it, is serviced regularly and has never had an issue. I find it hard to believe that the cruise, ABS, and traction control going out at the same time has nothing to do with the recall. I entered the intersection cars were in front of me. I slightly touched my brakes and the car stalled and didn't and wouldn't get speed of exhaustion. A car came speeding the opposite direction and collided into the rear of vehicle. I contacted Chrysler recall center and they refused to take the car back or forward the call to upper management. I spoke with drake DM1915 this morning that wasn't helpful or sentimental to the issues. Very arrogant and unconcerned. I had another encounter in the snow on 02/23/2015 where I had to leave my car in my work parking lot because my brakes would not traction the road and made a noise. I'm afraid to continue drive this vehicle.

I was backing down the driveway of my dad's house..there was recycling bins to the left side of the driveway which I was gong to hit if not moved or if I did not re-position the car in the driveway. I stopped the car and decided not to get out of the car to move the recycling bins but to put it in drive to re-position the car in the driveway....stepped on the gas..and bam...bamm...in 3 seconds I went like a bat out of [xxx]...through the 2 closed garage doors and the concrete wall between the two closed doors and coming to a stop after crashing into their dining room exterior wall. It took two times pushing the starter button before the engine shut off. The air bag never went off. It all happened so fast....I may have had my foot on both the gas and the brake at the same time (they are pretty close together) and the gas took over propelling the car forward through the garage.when applied at the same time which is programmed to take over"??the gas or the brake" there seems to be several different quirky things that happened in that car with me on that scary day in March. Thanks for your help. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
