The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that on several occasions the vehicle would not start. The vehicle was examined by an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the alternator was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact indicated that the vehicle was previously serviced under the NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V435000 (Electrical System). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 67,400.

The contact owned a 2013 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that the brake warning light illuminated. Upon pulling the vehicle over to inspect the failure, the contact noticed that the alternator assembly was on fire when the contact checked under the hood. The contact was able to access a fire extinguisher in the trunk of the vehicle and extinguished the flames. No police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and indicated that there was a manufacturer's recall, but the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V634000 (electrical system). The manufacturer provided no remedy. The approximate failure mileage was 113,600. Updated 03/18/16 the consumer requested to be reimbursed for the repairs.
