This is the second time my vehicle has failed in less than a month. On 02-23-2015 I entered my 2014 Chrysler 300 S, the motor would not start when pushing the Start Button. Instead the Start button was locked in the Run position. Removed my foot from the brake, pushed Start again ..... would not return to Off position. I opened the door thinking maybe it would reset this problem.....the entire dash Icons, headlights, Navigation screen, tachometer, speedometer start flashing and the windshield wipers are moving very slowly and were not switched on. Also I heard a low pulsating sound coming from the engine compartment. I could not open the trunk with the key fob in my pocket when pressing the trunk release or /open buttons on the dash, or on the trunk lid and on the fob. No door locks no nothing. All the lights kept flashing noise from the engine compartment still going for 15 -20 minutes. I went to call roadside assistance and after arranging for them to assist me returned to the car and everything ceased. Tried to start the car, but battery was dead. Tow assistance charged the battery. Called the dealer and arranged for an appointment the next day, where I purchased the car in NJ. arrived at 10:45AM left at approximately 2:30pm. The service Department performed a electrical diagnosis for the electrical system and charged the battery. 27 error codes were noted during diagnosis. They would not replace the battery, when I suggested the vehicle was only 3 month since I purchased it. I also told them that something is at fault with the electrical system to cause all that havoc and for the battery to discharge. They disagreed and handed me the work order and trouble codes. The work order states "8541093 Engine No Trouble found" ! I have lost confidence in this brand new 3 month old vehicle. I did some research and have discovered that their are many Chrysler owners with this very problem. A class action has been filed against Chrysler, for a defective TIPM. I believe this is my problem as well. Here is the link....... http://gotaclassaction.com/chrysler-sued-over-failure-to-timely-repair-or-replace-totally-integrated-power-module-in-certain-vehicles/ I previously filed the earlier failure that took place on 01-19-2015 less than a month ago. While driving home the car surged/hesitated and the check engine Icon illuminated. I exited from the expressway and shut the engine but the check engine Icon still was illuminated, and now the vehicle would not shift out of the lower gears. When it finally did it moved very slowly, relative to the engine speed. The same dealer supposedly corrected that problem and the work order stated 181905A1 Transmission Control Module, they never did anything with the TIPM, which has been problematic for some time now and Chrysler has not announced a recall for it. Both failures in my opinion are related to a defective power module . This vehicle is unsafe to drive.
Update from Mar 13, 2015: A few days after the car was serviced for an elctrical/electronic problem was retuned to me by the service dept, the Sirius Travel and Traffic Links on the 8.4n Radio with Navigation, failed. I could not access either. I called Sirius and the technician who tried to restore them with out success. He claimed communication from the vehicles "Brain" was lost and I should return the vehicle to be services and the radio will have to be reprogrammed, replace or repaired. He also stated notes of this event would be recorded in my file should Chrysler require them. Please note the service dept Work Order for Feb 25 states Engine Trouble...Trouble Not Found". It was not engine trouble it was an electrical/electronic failure of the TIPM. Which is in my opinion related to this new issue with the 8.4n Radio.
Update from Mar 13, 2015: With reference to the Feb 25 2015 when the Chrysler dealer Service Dept's supposedly fixed the problem, the Work Order Stated "Engine Trouble, Trouble Not Found". It was not an engine problem. it was definitely an electrical/electronic TIPM failure. Here is a link to exactly what happened to my car. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/channel-2-investigates-possessed-cars-and-their-da/nkCq3/
Update from Jun 7, 2015: Not satisfied with Pine Belt Chrysler,s Service dept evaluation ofthis problem I contacted Chrysler and was assigned a case manager. During our telephone conversations I believed I was finally going to be assisted. I informed her I no longer wanted to drive my car because I felt it could fail again and wind uo in a serious rear end collision. She asked before a refund or replacement could take place, would I allow Pine Belt to try to remedy the TIOM issue one more time. I agreed. On Mar 17 2014 my car was at the dealer's service dept. However they explained they would have to keep the car for a few days and wanted me to pay for a rental. I refused and finally the service manger said he would pay for the rental. Rental for 40 dollars per day, not a loaner as they gave me previously. After 19 days I received a call and was told by the service writer, my car was ready and I would have to pay for the rental ! When I arrived at the dealer the work order stated " could not duplicate....car operating as designed " ! I was told the vehicle was safe to drive, and I would have to pay for the rental ! They never checked or replaced the TIPM . Over the next week or so I tried to reach the case manager who gave me her tel # but was never able to speak with her. I was only able to reach her voice mail and left a message each time. She never returned my calls. So after 19 days in the service dept, the option offered by the case manager to allow one more attempt to fix my car before a refund or replacement never happened. I was led down the path with sweet talk by the case manager and fed a lot of crap from Pine Belt. Chrysler has swept the TIPM defect under the rug for my car and other owners that have experienced this TIPM problem. I will take other options to get results. This 2014 Chrysler 300 S is STILL UNSAFE TI DRIVE.

After countless visits to different Chrysler service depts., and close to 30 cumulative days [18 consecutive] the issues for my 2014 Chrysler 300 S have not been resolved The car was a brand new purchase in December of 2014. It was a highlight of my life for 1 ONE month. In jan 2015 the car lost power on a NJ expressway. The dealer I where I bought the car serviced it, and it has since developed all sorts of electrical issues. Transmission, Navigation and a host of other electrical issues that have not been resolver with the many trips to Chrysler's service departments. 2 different dealers keep the car and return it with the same exact results "Customer's issues could not be duplicated". Just this morning I had my car returned to me for the service department who had it for 3 days. The most recent issue is that the transmission shifter engages the Reverse detent when parking the car, instead of engaging the Park detent. This is a serious safety issue, But Chrysler say they could not duplicate this issue. Also the radio does not turn on at times and also turns on by itself. The Navigation loses map route continually and takes 3-5 minutes to restore the map also a safety issue. The windshield wipers turn on with switch in off position,. Icons on the dash board ignite and flash and car looses power. This car is a piece of crap and Chrysler is not doing a thing about it !
It also seems that although Car Complaints is a good and honest advocate. Their findings of similar Chrysler vehicles with identical issues are reported to other Washington DC safety advocates have fallen on deaf ears. That advocate has the power to force Chrysler to do a recall, but they do not............well figure it out for yourself.
With the huge amount of Chrysler vehicles [millions since 2005 to present] that are experiencing issues as I have, only a fatality will finally wake up Chrysler, to make a TIPM recall for all their vehicles that have this poorly designed, faulty, unsafe TIPM.
Buyer beware do not buy a Chrysler vehicle they are unsafe to drive. Where the hell is Ralph Nader ?
