I own a 2005 Chrysler 300C, Hemi 5.7 with 125,000 miles. In year 2006 the transmission was replaced under warranty. Overall the car has been a good one until recently. Like many other owners I am now experiencing problems with the car stalling while driving. My mechanic said with 98% certainty replacing the throttle body would fix the problem. The day after making this repair the car stalled out again while having to drive slow in heavy traffic. Imagine that! This 13 year old car averages less than 10,000 miles a year of driving and has been well maintained.

I have read where owners have replaced just about anything and everything you can engines, transmissions, sensors, computers, throttle bodies, plugs, connectors, fuel tanks, etc., but no one has said it was caused by anything specific. Obviously the manufacturer is not standing behind the problem and/or wants to take any responsibility for why this is happening because it is a serious problem that either could or has resulted in death. My concern is my wife is the primary driver of this vehicle and I worry she may be injured or killed because of this defect.

Help! Help! I can't afford a new car at this time.

Dealership stated there was no single unit called electronic throttle control so they had to go through set procedure to diagnose the problem. After going through the car and finding several other maintenance issues they came up with $2000 bill. I stated I only wanted to fix what I brought the car in for and would these problems fix my issue. they said no guarantees. I opted for them to fix the high voltage and ignition switch and hood latch $960. They called 2 days later for us to pick up the car..... the very next day ....driving to church .. it stalled and cut off again right in the middle of traffic again.... scared the bejesus out of everyone. it finally cranked up and was able to limp home. called dealership and complained ... .they asked me to drive it in for another look. Are you kidding me.... they got the vibe of the ridiculousness of their request and volunteered to tow it in. Now I am waiting for their next call. While waiting I went to Google and noticed this is in fact a very talked about problem of the Electronic Throttle Control issue. Some how the picture and video I showed of this exact problem was not recorded on the invoice we paid for and have no clue of their diagnostic process nor secure if they actually tested the car after they did their patch/fix. This from my one hour of research seems to be a serious problem and waiting for something really bad to happen before a recall. Why not at least provide a definite diagnosis and fix if not a recall? Rather pay to get it fixed than possible fatal incident.

While driving this vehicle the car would shut off on me. Was able to drive it home and a few days later I replaced the alternator and battery and the vehicle was fine. However today after putting the A/C on the car began to shut off again. I believed it was because of the a/c so I got the car home. I tried it with both with the a/c on and off but the car kept idling low then eventually shutting off. I'm getting tired of this!

A few years ago, while driving this car the engine seized on the highway while my kids were with me during a very cold winter evening, The car was under warranty (thank god) but the engine was replaced and the problem was undetected. This problem occurred 2 more times within a year as the top half of the engine was replaced once again.

FINALLY they discovered it to be a computer problem, however after the warranty was over. After numerous conversations with the dealer they picked up the tab for the new computer because the problem occurred during the life of the warranty. Thankfully the engine has not given me any problems, but it now it constantly shuts off. Could this current problem be a RECALL? Any feedback would be appreciated.
