The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler 300C. The contact stated that when the fuel tank was full, the engine would stall sporadically and recurring. The vehicle would always restart and resume normally. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The dealer advised the contact that fuel was entering the system purge line and causing the fuel valve to fail. As a result, the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 41,000.

After filling the car when we begin to accelerate the car stalls. We have repeatedly asked the dealerships if they have had complaints and they said "no". finally, on 2/14/14 we saw on the news that Chrysler is extending the fuel warranty to lifetime due to a defect in the fuel tank causing stalling after filling. We again have contacted Chrysler dealerships and Chrysler complaint center and they said because there isn't a recall they can't fix it. How can this be if they agreed to a lifetime warranty on the fuel system. The dealership said they don't have a part to replace until there is a recall. The complaint center said they can't help us if there isn't a recall. We also have an article from the detroit news on 2/18/14 that states that the ntl highway traffic safety commission ended its investigation after Chrysler and a supplier developed a solution to the problem extending lifetime warranty coverage. Is there anything your dept. Can do to help consumer" why should we have to wait for someone to Ram us in the backend entering a freeway because our car stalls"

Right after gassing up, my car stalled at a red light. Restart, stall again while rolling (losing power steering and power brakes.) restart and drive with heavy throttle to next red light, where car stalled again. Restart, go, then another stall when car behind me honks. Dangerous stalling in intersection. Problem remained until gas tank went down about 2 gallons from full. Problem continues to date, I cannot fill the gas tank.

After filling up the gas tank, the engine will stall several times. When idling at a light or stop sign and sometimes when traveling at low rpms. This engine has stalled when entering the parkway nearly being rear ended. This has occurred for the past two months several times, only when I fill up the gas tank.

My car started stalling and choking for 2-3 minutes after filling up the gas tank. It actually turns off 2-3 times with-in a block or two of the gas station and sometimes there is a 3-10 second delay when I shift from P or N into D. this first started in August and continues to happen. I've changed gas stations and it continues to happem

After refueling, engine stalls at any speed. Car dies while at highway speeds (70mph). Car may be restarted by shifting to neutral or park. This is very dangerous at highway speeds (requires shifting to neutral and restarting while car is moving. Sometimes the engine just shuts off for a couple of seconds but then, continues to run. At highway speeds, the problem persist for about 5 to 8 miles after refueling. After that, the problem does not recur until the next refueling. If the tank is partially refilled, that is, the gas pump is turned of when the tank is ~ full, the problem does not occur. Problem has been consistently recurring for about the past 4 years.

Vehicle will stall while driving or surge while trying to stop without notice for up to thirty minutes or approximately 20 miles after normal fuel up (no topping off!). I suddenly surged while approaching another vehicle from behind at a stop light and my vehicle nearly caused a collision. While driving on a two-lane curved road the vehicle stalled causing loss of steering and near collision with on-coming traffic and had to stop quickly which caused a road hazard for other vehicles coming around a tight turn behind me. Once restarted, I continued on same road and vehicle died again in a turn on same road causing the steering to go out again which lead to veering off the road and with the potential of falling down a 30 foot un-guarded decline. Vehicle will stall and surge while in idle as well. I have been able to replicate this issue reliably on three separate occasions. I welcome any skeptics from Chrysler or other investigative authorities to contact me so that I may demonstrate the severity of this issue if necessary. This is dangerous!!!

I have had this car for 7 years, never had an issue. On February 23,2014 I went to shell and filled up the car with $49. I do not remember if I ever filled the car up before. I'm sure I have but I usually put 20/30 bucks in. But I just found out about stop N shop gas savings and received a discount. I tried to put 50 in but it only took $49. I got back in the car and I tried to pull away from the pump and it shut down. I thought maybe it was a fluke since I was basically at a roll. I drove 2 blocks and at the traffic light it died. I proceeded to make a U-turn to return home. The car died 3 times in a 5 block span. I took the car to my cousin who had a computer, no codes came up but the car shut down twice. I parked the car and took out a different car. My cousin thought it was bad gas or a bad oil change which I had done on Feb 22, 2014 I just returned home and googled, "Chrysler 300C stalling" and found the article that this has been occurring, and here I am. I guess I will contact Chrysler in the morning.

Car stalls after refueling. It will stall whether idling or driving. Takes 4 or so tries to restart vehicle. Happens almost every time. I do not overfill or fill when car is running. Brought car to dealer who could not recreate problem and computer diagnostics showed no issues. I called Chrysler directly and they claim they have never heard of this problem and cannot help unless dealer can recreate. The only problem is that it only happens after filling up, which the dealer did 1 time and of course it didn't happen.

Vehicle hesitates/stalls after filling with fuel. Dealership replaced purge solenoid and cannister at a cost to me of $538.22. After replacement, car died on me 5 times after filling with fuel in less than a 4 block area. Returned car to dealership. Was told the customary fix was a new canister and fuel tank, at an additional cost of $1,168.70 plus tax, or to only fill tank 3/4 of the way full when fueling. I choose not to pay approximately an additional $1,200 and have not been able to fill my tank to first fuel hose shutoff since. Have had to try to guess how much fuel to put into vehicle when fueling ever since. Don't understand why I wasn't notified by the dealership of this problem since they obviously have a record this was an issue with my vehicle, and have not received the fuel tank extended lifetime warranty coverage letter from Chrysler. Have not been contacted by Chrysler at all regarding this problem.

My 2006 Chrysler 300 stalls after I fill it with gas. This happened to me a number of times. I now longer can fill my gas tank. This is a dangerous problem as the car stalls while I am driving it. It stalled on me on the fwy. Luckily for me, there was heavy traffic and I was going 35 mph. I have been told I need a new gas tank which would cost me over 1000 dollars. There is a los angeles time article dated May 14,2013 which indicates nearly 200,000 complaints regarding 2006 300C, Dodge charger and Dodge magnum of having this problem. Chrysler needs to do a recall on these vehicles. Updated 03/12/14

When I fill up my 2006 Chrysler 300C 5.7 hemi it will stall/engine shuts off while driving down the street. Acts like it could be vapor lock. It's take a few tries to start after this happens. I will be in the middle-of-the-road. There has been a few close calls. It happens every time I fill up with gas. I am scared to pull out into traffic just because my car will sometimes stall. I've taken my car to mechanics and the dealership nobody seems to know what the problem is.

After fueling, car began to surge, and then die at random for approximately 5 minutes. Car stalled at major, busy intersection while I was turning. I had a near, potentially fatal accident as I had to restart my car while oncoming traffic coming towards me. This was a horrifying experience. I had this happen a few more times and had attributed it to "bad gas" until I found out about a faulty fuel tank/vapor part in car. I took the car to Chrysler dealership and paid $130 to diagnose problem. Rode with service technician to refuel car and show him the problem. He experienced the same issue, verified my complaint, then gave me the estimate of cost to replace fuel tank. Chrysler Corp. Has offered a 25% discount to help with replacement of entire fuel tank. The whole fuel tank needs to be replaced because the faulty part is built into it. The cost quote from the Chrysler dealership, parts and labor is $1,350. The price of the fuel tank only, no labor is $905. This should be covered by Chrysler 100%, the fuel tank did not wear out or fail, the part they built into it failed. It may appear by the year model, (2006) that this an older model beginning to have problems. This is not the case, car has been kept up with regular service and maintenance and is in otherwise mint condition.I feel that this is a serious safety issue, and now I am aware that I cannot fill my fuel tank to capacity without having this issue re occur. Please, any help appreciated. Thank you.

Vehicle stalled at major intersection shortly after refueling and would not restart and stay running. Had to be pushed out of intersection and off roadway by police. No codes appeared. Numerous restarts and stalls before car was drivable. Brought to mechanic who computer scanned for diagnosis. No codes. Problem has now recurred 2 more times immediately after last 2 fill ups. Most recent was reentering rte 23S near wayne NJ after filling up. Car stalled and created a serious hazard for me and passengers trying to avoid rear end collision while pulling to shoulder with no power. Very busy road with 50-60 mph traffic. Car would not restart and stay running - requiring 5-7 restart/stalls before it was drivable. Brought to mechanic for diagnosis again. No codes on scanner. Very dangerous situation.
