This will be the 2nd time in 6 mo ..that I have had to fix the radiator and fans because of shifty parts provided by chysler and dodge. Yall should really put out the efforts to make the manufacture recall these vehicles ASAP. Cause it really makes them look bad and because of this I won't ever buy a vehicle made by either from here on out.

The electrically powered radiator cooling fans on my vehicle separated during fan operation and caused damage to my radiator. I experienced this condition on 6/20/2015 and have paid to have it repaired. What should I do. I am the original owner. I found the recall (Customer Satisfaction Notification L08 Engine Cooling Fans) for it but Chrysler declined me. You can read Chrysler's response below. I had to pay $655 dollars to have it repaired.

Dear Henry,

Thank you for contacting the Dodge Customer Assistance Center.

Chrysler is dedicated to producing a quality product and we are saddened to hear of the issues you have had with your vehicle. Products are not put out onto the market with specific faults in mind and we cannot foresee when a vehicle may require specific maintenance outside of the suggested maintenance routines.

We realize that vehicle service expenses cannot always be predicted and as such, they are often disappointing to the vehicle owner. Within warranty parameters, Chrysler Group LLC will not hesitate to assume the repair costs; however, after the warranty terms have been exceeded, charges must be accepted by the vehicle owner.

After reviewing the matter and issues raised, your request for consideration in this matter must be declined, because the vehicle in question has exceeded the time and mileage limitations of the manufacturer's warranty at the time the expense was incurred.

We sympathize with your inconvenience and we are sorry that we cannot honor your request.

Thank you again for your email. Should you require additional assistance, or have any new information to provide, please reply to this email message or call 1-800-4A-DODGE (1-800-423-6343).

Sincerely,

Athena

I was stopped at a red light and heard a noise (like I ran over something, but I wasn't moving). When the light turned green, I pulled forward, made a U-turn, and saw all kinds of liquid on the road. I started looking for warning lights on the dashboard. I noticed the temperature gauge starting rising. I made another U-turn and headed home, about 1 mile away. Before I was home, the temperature had gone into the red and the indicator light came on. I called the dealership, also 1 mile away. They did not recommending driving it, suggested a wrecker. After letting the car sit for a few hours, drove it over and left it. I do not think the radiator fan coming off and going into the radiator is a normal wear and tear problem. I think there is a defect and a recall should be made on this problem.

Cooling fan separated from its assembly while pulling out onto a busy highway from my neighborhood. The fan shattered and tore into my radiator creating a major antifreeze dump out of the reservoir. Thought I was hit from behind however there was no car behind me. There were no audible warning indicators or dash lights warnings, immediately after this fan failure in which the A/C continued blowing cold air. Within 3 min of failure as I set at a traffic light the cooling temp light came on.

I veered off and pulled into Jiffy Lube and found out I had a antifreeze leak due to looking at a pool of red liquid on the ground...The mechanics poured water into the reservoir and we all noticed water pouring right out....As we let the car cool we attempted to restart vehicle and the ignition wouldn't turn on. ....Had my Chrysler towed to the dealership and they quoted a $8000 fix which included $4000 of it for a refurbished engine due to cylinder head damage...The damage all happened within 5 minutes of failure.....

Done some research online and found there is a 2006- 2008 DODGE CHARGER, DODGE MAGNUM, AND CHRYSLER 300 recall "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION L08 ENGINE COOLING FAN JUNE 2011". Recall states that the cooling fan fails and comes off in hot climate temperature states. This was the same exact failure I had experienced and was told by Chrysler I was not covered because my sales code had to be sales code XDL OR XDK...Same exact situation happened to many others including one a few weeks before mine in which customer was denied. Chrysler was called multiple times and have had 2 customer service reps hang up in my girlfriend's face as she was explaining to the reps how this failure was the same exact failure.

There needs to be an additional recall investigation into these cooling fans before someone ends up severely injured immediately.
