Two cracks started out as hairline, but have gotten bigger. I feel that chrysler should replace the dashboards as there seem to be so many complaints about them Someone I work with has the same problem with hers.

the dash on the passenger side is cracked - have called several places to find out how to get it fixed - the only answer I get is to cover it up. Seems Chrysler should have a better answer than that.

Car is garage kept, window screen/shade is used when vehicle is used on trips. Small crack just started on dash in area above the passenger side airbag. I have been searching the web for solutions/repairs and have found this has been a common problem. With several shops claiming they have worked on approx 30 cars per year since the introduction of the 300M. I was shocked to see only 8 related complaints on this site. I contacted our local Chrysler dealer, which claimed to have no knowledge of this problem. The dealer suggested I contact Chrysler Customer Relations. I got a return call in approx 30 hours form a Chrysler Rep. who also informed me that she was not aware of any other complaints about dash cracks on 300M's.
Looks like there is no evidence of a wide spread manufacturers defective part.

like others have said it started out as a small crack on the left side of where the air bag is, now it has gotten to be a few inches, I now have a small crack on the right side of the air bag. I took my car into the dealership, and the fellow there said he had never seen this before, is it a California car? No, it is a B.C car I am the second owner and the car has been maintained very well. I asked the man if the air bag could be effected , he told no, then told me the bag does not come out of there anyway it comes our here- and pointed to the brown strip on the dash that goes on the front flat panel where the radio is. I told him that was not right , that strip wouldn't come off and if it did someone could get hurt. His advice was to find someone to glue it.
I have read other complaints about this situation and have been told it looked awful and didn;t last. I think this could be a safety hazard, what if the crack keeps getting bigger, and it will, could my air bag go if I hit a big bump? Also I was thinking of getting something different and now my car will be worth less. I wonder if the the Chrysler dealer will give me a letter telling me it is not a safety hazard!!! I will try see what happens

The dashboard started cracking and the crack just grew bigger. We took it to the dealer because it was still under warranty, but they said it must have been parked in the hot sun. The car is always covered with a car cover when in hot sun and is garaged at night. The dash then began to form another large crack. What is weird about the crack is that it forms the outline of the passenger side airbag. Probably because the dash is not insulated enough from the airbag frame. The rest of the dash looks brand new except for the two long cracks. We finally covered the dash with a dash cover. Really nice for a "luxury" car. Thats probably why the Chrysler dealer went out of business - a luxury car put together with cheap parts. This was not the only problem we've had with this vehicle.

After many other issues, now the dash has started cracking just out of the blue. It's small now, but I'm sure it'll grow. I've constantly keep the interior well maintained and out of direct sun, but to no avail. Just one more reason to not buy another Chrysler.

I bought My chrysler 300M and it has a huge crack on both sides of the Passenger Air bag. I don't think its a safety problem but it doesn't look the best. I wish Chrysler would call a recall on it but since they're in debt I know that will never happen

Shortly after our warranty ran out on our 2000 Model Chrysler 300M, we started seeing a crack in the dash on the passengers side. I stopped at the Chrysler dealership in Spokane, WA and they told me there wasn't anything they could do being our warranty had run out and that it would cost us approximately $600 for a new dash. I couldn't afford to purchase a new dash so lived with it until the following summer.
Our neighbor who was just going through a divorce, just happened to be a part owner in the Chrysler dealership and sold his share of the business. I don't think he would have shared this information had he still been associated with Spokane Chrysler, but was nice enough to provide us with the name of a couple out of Idaho that the Chrysler dealership contracted with to do all of their auto interior vinyl repairs. He said they could help us.
I contacted the couple to schedule this repair. After they fixed my dash, they told me they had repaired a number of them on the Chrysler 2000 300M and that the dash was defective. They indicated the crack was alongside the airbag and that the dash would probably crack along the other side, as well. This summer the original crack is cracking open again, and I now have a crack on the other side of the airbag.
I have made arrangements to get the cracks fixed again, but there is no guarantee that they will hold this time either. My concern is that it is a safety issue and that the airbag could dislodge causing an accident. The dash is defective and Chrysler should have recalled this model to repair it. The dealerships should have also been honest, acknowledged the defect, and assisted in getting the dash replaced.

We have a 2000 Chrysler 300M. Our dash started cracking sortly after our warranty ran out....and I mean shortly after. We found out that the crack was caused by a poorly designed dashboard for the airbag. The dash first started cracking along side the lefthand side of the airbag. We got it fixed a couple of years ago and it's now cracking on the other side of the airbag (see photos). I have arranged to get it fixed again but there is no guarantee how long it will last this time.
This dash is defective. There should have been a recall and Chrysler should be responsible for the expense. I am concerned that it is a safety issue that that the airbag could dislodge at anytime causing an accident. I would be interested in who could give an honest opinion on whether it is a safety issue or not. It is certainly cosmetic and my car is worth far less because of it.

I purchased my 300M used with 22,000 miles on it, around 30,000 miles a small crack appeared on th dash and has gotten bigger. It is 10 to 12 inches long now. I have had my car 3 years and I love it but hate the way the dash looks now.

My car has 67,000 miles all trim on inside is coming off, rubber around doors is coming off. Dash board is cracking. I have taken very good care of this car. Leather cleaner used regularly on interior.
