My engine overheated so I had it towed to the garage. This happened all of the sudden. The mechanic tore the engine down and found the gaskets to be bad. I have not had this problem again but I feel that 102,000 miles is not enough mileage to have this kind of problem. Makes me want to stick with foreign made cars instead!

My car started overheating and I took it in for diagnostic. They told me the thermostat needs to be replaced and I need a radiator flush. I got all this done and paid over $25 of which was parts and the rest labor. 5 blocks down the car repair shop my car started overheating again. I took it back to the shop over 6-7 times. They told me that they must have left some air in and let my car run for over 2-3 hours each time I took it back. The thermostat seemed to not fix the problem. After making a complaint I got my money back, but I really wanted to get the car fixed. Now it overheats in stop and go traffic mostly, it seems to be ok on the freeway, even though I haven't fully tested it to know. I'm afraid to drive and since a licensed, experienced mechanic can't figure out what the problem is, I don't know what I should do. I am tired of spending money on bad diagnostics.

I have spent over $700.00 to fix the overheating but it's still not fixed. Started by flushing/filling system (later found out they put the wrong anti-freeze in). Went back and they changed the coolant, changed the thermometer and bled the air out of the system. Finally took the car to a different dealer who was convinced that the wrong coolant and the radiator fans caused overheating. I paid them to change the coolant but the fans came on and off when car was idle. Car overheats while driving at freeway speeds and radiator fans aren't a factor when driving at this speed. So I chose not to pay the $880 for the fans.
