rim bead area badly corroded and tires will go flat
As with the forum for the aluminum alloy 17" chrome rims on the 2000 300M complaint section I too have issues with these rims. The bead area on all wheels are completely corroded and flaking the chrome. I have had new tires put on several times over the lifetime of this vehicle and i would contribute some of the abnormal wear and sometimes poor handling to these crummy rims. I am lucky enough to have a repair shop up the street from my house that for about 35 dollars will routinely take the tires off and grind the corrosion down enough to have the tires hold air for about 3 months and then I have to repeat the process for another one that is going bad. I am going to replace the rims at some point but i may look into calling Chrysler to see if there is anything they will do for me but i am not going to hold my breath.

The front tires keep losing air no matter how many times it has been fixed. Belle Tire said it was a rim leak. Had it fixed and it happened again and again and it's a pain in the ass! I have been on this site for my Pontiac Grand Prix catching fire now im here for a rim leak! Cars a good car though and I love it to death! Getting a new rim from Chrysler.
