Crazy!.. After every rain there is a problem with not starting. Lights and dash everything blinking. today horn started, couldn't get it off!!, after another rain last night same thing again and again! Screen goes off. usually have to wait till it dries out . very annoying ! Dealership says $1000 dollars just for parts when really its water causing this. when I got in it this morning I noticed a drop of water come out from Under dash in my foot! There needs to be a recall on this problem as I love the car but am still paying on it and this problem needs to be fixed instead of waiting for it to dry out every time!

Called Chrysler as I was told that all available parts have been used and that there are 56 other pre-orders ahead of me. Chrysler representative said Chrysler would NOT stand behind this defect and fix this problem. Apparently with that many customers also wanting the same part at this time Chrysler is at fault and if anyone knows of a solution to getting Chrysler to correct this manufacturing defect please let me know.

This has been ongoing for the last 1 /12 years. After a heavy rain, water on the drivers side floor, check engine light on and then after driving a few minutes all the dash lights go on and the needles for the MPH and RPM go up and down, ringing sounds. Took car into dealer 1 yr ago. Said nothing was wrong. Took it in last Tues. Said it needed a new battery. Cost $259.00. Heavy rain last night. Check engine light on again. Now car clicks when I turn if off. Dealer can't see me again till Thurs. By then the car will have dried out and they will tell me there is nothing wrong again! Car was leased and we just bought it 3 months ago.
Update from Nov 2, 2012: Okay,,,hurrican sandy comes...we did NOT get alot of rain, mostly winds. My car is having the same problems again. I had the engine and front hood sealed with plastic and NO water got in. I figured it could not be an engine problem or battery problem. I had water on the inside drivers mat so I opened the fuse box located on the side panel of the drivers side. There was water in it. I am assuming that the fuses keep getting wet and after enough times, the connection gets poorer. I am taking it back to the dealer next week. This is obviuosly a manufactureres defect in which its repair cost should not be passed on to me. Check your fuse box after it rains. See if u have the same problem. I will check back here to update you.

Like other complaints I've read on this and other sites, this problem occurs after moderate to heavy rain storms, or even after a few days of light to moderate rain. This has occurred around 10 times now. We've had mechanics tell us the problems are: car batter, alternator, computer. Going back to the first time this occurred, we paid 500 for battery replacement and another part (i don't remember at this point). A few days later, the problem happened again. I opened the panel to the fuses that is on the drive side close to the driver's left leg to check maybe if some fuses burned out. To my surprise, I saw water all over those fuses. The mechanic wanted to another big repair when I scheduled the service and then I told them and showed them the water. The ended up cleaning the drain lines that take rain water out of the vehicle. (not sure where these are and where the water drains from). He says these lines are too thin and they will clog very often. Sure enough, he cleaned out plenty of dust. However, the problem is that this is occurring more and more often/frequently. This is clearly a design flaw that is impacting the electrical system. Over the last 3 years, this has cost me thousands of dollars because it's not just cleaning out the drainage tubes, but all the electrical damage and tuneups I need each time this happens. How could Chrysler just cut and run with all of these issues occurring. I can only imagine all the people constantly going for repairs and not knowing about the drain problem in this car. If you have this issue, please check that fuse panel that is near the driver's left leg especially after a rain storm. Get a bright flashlight and look to see if there is water on the fuses or below that area. If you are finding water on the floor or dripping from your dashboard, there may be other areas where water is overflowing from any poor drainage. Shame on you Chrysler for not addressing this.
