I had trouble with a humming noise and popping under my vehicle for a few months. The humming got so loud that we could not hear each other talk to one another at all. It popped pulling out, going around a curve, going backwards, or slowing down. The humming stopped all of a sudden after it got very loud. My Aspen then fell toward the right side and smoke started shooting out from the passenger back tire when driving it. I then took it to the mechanic. He said it was very bad. The rear axle and rear axle bearing are destroyed and it will need a new rear end. This vehicle had NO8 rear pinion nut recall completed on 1/13/2014. If the recall really solves the 2009 Aspen problem of the rear end axle and axle bearings from being destroyed then why am I now having to get a new rear end in December of 2019. I see complaints all over the internet about this problem with the vehicle after the recall was completed so now people are paying for repairs out of pocket. A $2500+ repair for a vehicle is an awful product flaw that Chrysler is not being responsible for. I have had cars for 20 years that I never had to pocket money like that for all their repairs together.

Chrysler case #: 29959728 vehicle description: Chrysler Aspen limited 4X2 sport utility 4-door I attempted to reach out to my case manager haley and my link has been disabled and her voicemail has yesterday's date. I have not received a call today from anyone at Chrysler Corp regarding my case. I did speak today with mopar vehicle protection and they stated when Chrysler placed the max care coverage on my Aspen, they were suppose to place the powertrain wrap with the max care coverage. Per my vehicle info and the sales rep, Chrysler lifetime powertrain warranty was included with my vehicle purchase. I have spoken with jake and meka also with regards to this case and was advised by meka, my case manager should be contacting me back. Seeking assistance since haley X40612 is not in the office.

As requested by jake - Chrysler Corp, cc#: 29959728 I took my car in for repairs last Thursday. Matt richardson called on Friday stating that the rear end barrings have come apart on the car and that they not only need to replace the barrings, they need to do an entire overhaul of the entire rear end. He explained they will be replacing the pinion nut which was the N08 recall performed last year, the differential unit including replacing the oil in the rear differential unit on the service that was performed in July 2016. He stated that it would take approximately 3 to 4 days. $1150 Chrysler's lifetime powertrain warranty should cover this as the pinion nut, rear end differential is part of the powertrain. A warranty that provides protection for as long as you own the car to the key component groups that are essential to keeping your vehicle running: The engine, transmission/transfer case/all-wheel drive assembly, and drivetrain assembly. However, I am being charged. Recall #2 not performed as airbag parts are not available.

I filed a complaint about the pinion nut and rear bearings issue to the NHTSA pinion nut recall - N08 - power train/driveline/differential unit. While stateline Chrysler representative, matt richardson, does not feel that the issue is related to the pinion nut recall, I strongly disagree. The reason stated for the when I press the gas that my car makes noise which appears to be coming from the front, but is actually coming from the rear, is because this is related to the rear end differential unit. Fact #1 ' my Aspen is 1 of the 11 million vehicles affected built by fca and part of the 2015 NHTSA enforcement action. Fact #2 - stateline Chrysler, fort mill, SC handled the recall for the pinion nut repair. Fact #3 ' July 2016, I was advised my car need pinion nut repair after the pinion nut repair service had been performed. Fact #4 ' during the same service, I was advised there was no rear differential fluid in my car by Chrysler and that it needed to be sealed. Which means my car's differential unit has not been lubricating. Fact #5 ' I was advised by Chrysler that the noise would go away after I paid to have oil 'put into' the rear differential unit. I called matt to advise the noise had not gone away. On the third week, I took my car in and was advised the rear bearings need to be replaced at the cost of $2000. Fact #6 ' I was advised by matt richardson my car will lock-up while driving. The failure happened at Chrysler which has impacted the way my car drives and my safety. This is truly 100% related to the N08 recall. Fca is accountable for its past failures and has committed to get unsafe vehicles repaired or off the roads, I did not receive any letter as agreed to by a consent order July 2015 with NHTSA, as Fiat Chrysler agreed.

Description to be sent by email immediately following this transmission. Description email will bear this temporary file number. On a weekday sometime in May 2014, I stopper at a stop sign, without he engine fully heated up, turned the wheel over to make a left turn and pressed the accelerator pedal. Despite the fact that I had depressed the accelerator pedal, approximately 5% of travel, the engine remained at the standard 650 RPM curb idle speed. Holding my foot at that position, the engine remained at curb idle for approximately three seconds. The red throttle control lightening bolt illuminated on the instrument panel. Engine operation was otherwise normal. After about three seconds, the engine increased speed normally, the red light went off and I drove off without further malfunction. The check engine light did not illuminate at any time. At some point, in June 2014. The same malfunction occurred again. When opening the throttle from a standing start, the engine refused to respond to the throttle and remained at curb idle for approximately three seconds. The red throttle control light remained on for approximately three seconds, and the engine then resume normal operation. Again, the check engine light did not illuminate. For months, there was a very mild low RPM flat-spotting symptom. Specifically, once the car was in motion, small openings of the throttle produced only very mild acceleration, without hesitation. Pushing the throttle down a little further produced normal acceleration without a downshift. On July 19, 2014, I left the dealership and pulled out onto a feeder road. I noticed the flat-spotting again on the throttle opening at low RPM. I pulled into a parking lot, put the car in park and turned off the engine. I turned the key to on and once again followed the slowly depress fully calibration procedure. This procedure involved fully removing my foot from the pedal, at the end of the procedure. I turned the key off and then re-started the car. Instantly upon firing, the engine went to a 4000

My husband's truck and my Aspen are both affected by the N08 recall for rear axle pinion nut. We received the first notice of this recall several months ago, but the notice told us that the parts needed for repair were not available and that we would receive a second notice when they were. We have now received the second notice and I have called our local dealer, southern Chrysler Dodge Jeep, in lufkin, Texas two times but they only had 3 or 4 of the parts come in and those are already promised to other customers. My husband and I are driving around in these vehicles with our 6 year old son, and no one is able to tell us when we might be able to have this fixed because they do not know when they will receive another shipment and each future shipment will most likely only be 3 or 4 parts. I would like to have the parts shipped to our dealership, reserved in our names, with instructions for them to contact us upon arrival. (2010 Dodge Ram 1500 & 2009 Chrysler Aspen), or they can be shipped to us directly.
