When the oil pressure light comes on, you think OMG there goes the engine.Just listen to the valve lifters, if they are quiet its a safe bet the sending unit is bad.When you pull the sending unit you will see engine oil has worked past the internal seal and shorts the wires to the light to ground,turning on the idiot light.This seems to be a yearly occurrence now ,and I have gotten good at changing it.
