The contact stated that according to the mechanic at the local dealership, the hydraulic lift that holds up the trunk was not designed to hold the load. The trunk fell on him, but did not injure him. The dealership stated the hydraulic lifts need to be replaced on both sides. This has been happening since purchase of vehicle. Also, he stated the vehicle was low to the ground, the front end scraped when backing of the driveway or driving over a bump. He took the vehicle to two dealerships, and was willing to pay out of pocket. Both dealerships stated there was nothing that could be done. Updated 11/30/2005 -

He usually can catch the trunk before it falls. This has been happening since purchase of vehicle. The dealership stated the hydraulic lift needed to be replaced on both sides. Also, stated the vehicle was low to the ground, the front end scraped while backing out of the driveway or driving over a bump. He has taken the vehicle to two dealerships, and was willing to pay out of pocket. Both dealership stated there was nothing that could be done.

The plastic trim molding, that is between the glass and the hood, is rattling severely. Consumer feels that this molding may fly off at high speeds. Also, consumer has a problem with the trunk hydraulic lifter failing to keep the trunk propped up safely.
