I own a 1999 Chrysler Concorde lxi. I have had numerous problems with this car since I have owned it. Lot of little things. Window motors, cooling fan, transmission overspeed sensor, and the list goes on. Now the air conditioner is going out, having to service it about every 2 months. Why I am writing though is the steering. Seems like it is going bad. I feel this is a safety issue and read many complaints on your web site concerning this. Why hasn't a recall been ordered for this and the speed up issue?

This is the message that I sent to Chrysler corporation on 4/8/2003. I am having a problem with the items below. The car is a 1999 Chrysler Concorde lxi. I purchased it used Sept. 2002. I currently have 46201 miles on the car and by looking at the information on you website see that I am not the only individual to have these problems. My rear driver's side window is not working. It worked when I purchased the car, but now it doesn't even go down. I am having it replaced, but am not happy that a car only 3 years of age has such a problem. I have already done my research and have realized that I have purchased a car with numerous problems. Also, the front passenger door lock mechanism (actuator) also has to be replaced. It is currently making a very loud pitched noise when activating the locking feature. The unlock doesn't make the noise. I would appreciate a response about this information. I will also be contacting the NHTSA about these issues so they are aware of them. When at the dealer today, 4/8/2003, the service person said that the door lock mechanism has been a consistent problem. I really don't think that I will be purchasing or persuading an individual to purchase a Chrysler product. Sincerely, [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

While traveling highway speed, the automatic transmission down shifted abruptly with no warning. The owner was able to coast down a ramp onto a side street. The cause stated by a mechanic was that the torque converter destroyed itself. Tsthe motor that operates the drivers side window failed. An electrical component failed causing the battery to discharge. Consumer has been refused any compensation for the failure of the torque convertor.

Door autolock mechanism failure, power window failure prior to the April 13, 2001 incident. Parked in driveway, picked up four children. Engaged car in reverse, automatically accelerated at a minimum of 20mphs, applied brakes would not work, tried putting car in neutral, tried shutting off car, had to turn wheel of car to avoid hitting a house across the street, car continued to move forward over a curb and finally stopped once it hit bushes in a neighbors yard. Vehicle was inspected by Chrysler special investigations, was informed that no association was made in any manufacturing or assemby system defects. Throttle cable was not binding and was operating normally, hoses in tact per Chrysler. Referred to my insurance Agency to file a claim. Car max the dealer where I purchased the car offered no assistance as well. November 12, 2001 took car in to have repairs done to doors and windows, left door lock mechanism replacement $300, all four window regulator assemblies had gone bad. Over $1,000 to repair.

Power windows fail to come down due to electrical failure. Dealership has examined vehicle six times and failed to remedy problem. Please provide any additional information/attachments.
- Fayetteville, GA, USA
All of the power windows have failed over time. I believe the window is forming a seal with the rubber gasket at the top of each window. The power moter for the window does not have enough torque to break this seal to open the power window. All of the power windows have now failed over period of 6 months.
