The contact owns a 2002 Chrysler Concorde. While accelerating from a stop, the back of the driver seat reclined to the floor without warning. The contact pulled off the road and noticed that the entire seat failed. Chrysler stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA campaign id number 03V035000 (seats:front assembly:recliner). The manufacturer stated that they would not repair the seat again for free and would not provide reimbursement for the repairs. The current and failure mileages were 53,000. Updated 01-14-08. A local mechanic replaced the seat track and tie rod end. Updated 12/12/07.

The contact took the vehicle to the mechanic and they stated that the cause of failure was the front seat power assembly. The mechanic repaired the vehicle. There is a recall for the front seat power assembly (NHTSA campaign id number: 03V035000). The current and failure mileages were 52,000.
