Crossfire

  • 62,000 miles
Ever since I have had my Chrysler Crossfire the ignition cylinder has given my problems, key will not turn in cylinder, not even to position one! and this happens of a daily basis. After a few tries to jerk the steering wheel it will turn on but not the last time and took it to the dealership and they said $1250 to repair the cylinder and that may not fix the problem. Have talked to many Crossfire owners and they all have had to same issue, why is this not a recall?

Crossfire

I purchased a used 2004 Crossfire 8/15/2007 (yesterday) at 47K, great condition. Right off the back, it was difficult to turn the key in the ignition. The wheel was hard to turn and really hard to get the car started. I drove home, because the dealer guy started the car for me, right then I should have questioned the situation. Later that night I took the car out and was stuck in a parking lot for 2 hours. Had to get a cab home, get my fiance to come help me turn the key. He couldn't do it either. We finally seeked help from 2 guys and one was able to finally turn the key. Got home, and was not able to turn it again. I fear that the steering wheel will always do this and what if it locks while driving, like the other complaint I read. The dealer said they will pick up the car today and take a look at it.
