This is not about the convertible top falling off, or the window dropping out suddenly. The top is great but it doesn't work! After having the car, which I got in February of 2013 after much searching for a black convertible with low miles (how LUCKY I turned out to be!) this was the first problem to crop up after several months of driving it. (Don't count the crappy plastic, cheap cup holder, which was broken from the start. And by the way, if this car is so Mercedes, why didn't they spend a few dollars more per vehicle and make the dashboard a little less cheap looking?) The top started making noises like it was struggling to open or close. We figured it was maybe in need of hydraulic fluid for the top, but nowhere and I mean nowhere does it say just where that reservoir is and how you can easily get to it. When I brought the car to (allegedly) "fix" another problem I've noted, the key not being able to turn to start the car, I asked to diagnose the problem with the top. Quite a bit of expensive diagnostics later, it seemed that the hydraulic line is leaking. To fix....a whole bunch of money...Mercedes parts...
So, now...I have a very pretty car sitting in the driveway which, if it were able to start, I would not be able to drive with the top down. Or, if I were able to put the top down, I would not be able to put the top up on, or once I did get the top back in place, would leak into the passenger seat, which leads me to the last complaint.
