Rear window came out of the convertible top after purchasing 1 month earlier. Sounds like this is a very common problem but there is not a registered recall for it. This is obviously a manufacturing defect that should be fixed.

On August 22, 2013, I discovered the back window of my Crossfire convertible was detached from the convertible top. I thought my vehicle was vandalized. I contacted my insurance company and the police. The police inspected the vehicle and concluded that it appears someone tried to push the glass out. Upon inspection of the vehicle from my insurance company on 9-3-13 and reviewing the website on 2005 Chrysler crossfire complaints, the adjuster concluded that this is a manufactured defect and denied my claim. I contacted Chrysler and was informed that it was normal wear an tear and not covered for repairs by Chrysler. The vehicle was only driven for 28,277 miles. I have a serious safety concern that there are over 25 serious complaints in regards to the back windows of the 2005 Chrysler crossfire and not one recall from Chrysler or the highway patrol. I am asking Chrysler to pay for the repair of the back window on my 2005 Chrysler crossfire limited edition. Feel free to add my complaint to the others listed and I will be seeking a response from Chrysler. The vehicle was parked during the time of the incident. The vehicle has only 28, 277 miles, so this cannot be normal wear and tear. Unhappy Chrysler crossfire customer.

The rear window came unglued from the convertible top while driving down the highway. If the defroster cable had not held the window would have flown out, and could have seriously harmed other motorists. Chrysler knows of this issue and has issued tsb 23-035-11 which acknowledges the defect and will repair it, but only for cars sent to certain dealerships. This should be fixed on all 2005 crossfires. The vehicle is now undriveable and has to have the entire top replaced.

The 2005 (only) crossfire convertible has a faulty seal bonding the backglass to the top causing it to become dislodged from the top traveling or parked. Chrysler is aware of the defect calling it a "trim" piece. A vehicle traveling on the expressway or highway losing its' backglass is not a trim but a dangerous defect that must be recalled. Models after 2005 had this defect corrected.

The rear window in my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire roadster became unglued and will not stay in place; this makes the car unsafe to drive, as the window may come out at any time, string someone or causing an accident. This car was purchased in Nov 2008 with only 16,800 miles on it, and has been garage kept since. This is a known manufacturing defect, having affected dozens of these cars, as well as other Chrysler convertibles produced during that time. Chrysler has acknowledged the issue, but will only repair vehicles delivered to specific southern states, no matter where you live, bought the car, etc.

Crossfire

Purchased Crossfire in California in December of 2012 with 45000 miles on it. Commencing January 2013, rear glass commenced coming detached from canvas convertible top. Condition continues and is a dangerous situation for both passengers and drivers behind car. If glass breaks loose it could cause serious bodily harm. Chrysler is very well aware of the situation and has paid to repair the vehicles on a sporadic basis. Their last comments to me was due to my vehicle being first delivered in California, it was exempt from the recall for eight southern states. This is quite perplexing as the vehicles are identical, with the same problems. Only in different states. I have just learned that they replaced the top on a vehicle in Chicago. Clearly not one of the states named in the South. I would like them to honor what they are doing all over the country. Perhaps it is because they probably sold the most of these vehicles here in California. They are also excusing themselves from doing repairs because the cars were never climate tested in California. If not, they are relying on testing done on the mb slk. An identical vehicle. Please help me get my vehicle repaired under the warranty extended to so many others.

Driving appox. 35 mph when I started to hear a knocking noise from the rear. Looked back to see rear glass on convertible top had become detached on the bottom of glass. Had to wedge a part in between glass and body to hold glass in place. Now not driving the car because of the safety concern and the $2100 quoted to fix it. Can't afford at this time.

This vehicle has a design flaw. The rear glass on the convertible top comes unglued from the canvas creaating a very dangerous condition whereby the glass can act like a projectile traveling either forward, injuring or killing the passengers, or backwards, wreaking havoc on vehicles behind. Chrysler is aware of this condition yet most of the employees I have come in contact with claim to have never heard about it. There are hundreds or more vehicles involved. Chrysler has adopted a policy of randomly choosing to repair some vehicles while not repairing others. They have rejected my claim twice, while other owners I have spoken with with the same problem are awaiting repairs as soon as next week. They have claimed that they are only fixing cars in certain states. California is not one of them, although I would think that they sold many crossfire roadsters here. I think it is reckless and dangerous for Chrysler to maintain this dangerous condition.

The rear glass of my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire convertable detached from the top and fell out suddenly at 65 mph. The only thing that saved it from causing possible injuries was the rear glass heater wiring. The car is garaged and only driven maybe one day a week.

The rear window has become unglued from the convertible top. The top is brand new has no leakage. All shops are telling me that I will have to spend $2500 on a new top. I googled this issue and numerous other drivers of the exact same make and model are having the exact same problem. Why hasn't this car been recalled? this is such an inconvenience and completely unfair considering my top is still in good condition.

Rear window in convertible top is separating from the fabric. Called Chrysler customer assistance and they have been of no help at all. They are refusing to fix it and tell me it is not covered under my extended service contract. There is a service bulletin on this year car for this exact same problem. I feel strongly that this is a safety issue, if window falls out while I'm driving it could cause me to have an accident or window could hit someone behind me. Will cross my fingers that this does not happen!

One night parked my car in perfect condition, next morning 5/22/2012, came out and the back window is becoming unglued! I immediately contacted two dealerships and they said they would have to send it out for a new soft top and glass window which would be about $3,000. Are you kidding me! then I looked on line and there are multiple complaints of the rear window in the 2005 crossfire. Contacted Chrysler and they will not assist you. You reach a customer service person that takes the info and we will get back to you after investigation. Each time they call to say they are still checking into the situation, frustrates you more and more. I ended up ordering the window and top from a place the dealership gave me and am waiting for it to come in. In the meantime, I drive the car with a towel placed between the metal and loose window to prevent rattling and hope the window doesn't unstick from the top of which 20" are still glued! never again, Chrysler should stand behind their products!

Purchased this vehicle in April of this year, from a Chrysler dealer. It came with a plastic window, which I found out, is not factory/standard. The dealer refused to take care of it. Found out about the X31 and sb-23035-11reva bulletin, contacted Chrysler about it, got turned down because we are the 4th owners of the car, and it was 3,000 over the 100K mile limit. I wrote sergio marchionne, the CEO of Chrysler, got a review, but was turned down again. Told that it "would not make good business sense" to fix my car! what!!? the problem is widespread, and since Chrysler has owned up, they should continue to be a good manufacturer, and take care of their customers, original or not. The condition is dangerous.

The rear window glass on the roadster has separated from the roof lining. I have been told that it can not be repaired only replaced. This presents a safety hazard when the adhesive fails completely and the glass falls out on a roadway or turns into a projectile inside the car while driving. Very costly to the consumer to repair should be recalled as it looks like there are many others with the same problem. This car only has 40,000 miles on it.
