Crossfire

  • 57,000 miles
I was driving the Crossfire one evening and it shut off in the middle of the street, I almost got rear ended. All of a sudden the engine shut off, the exterior and interior lights went off as well. The car rolled to a stop blocking all the traffic behind me. I tried to restart the engine and nothing happened, I had to have the car jump started, which took several attempts. I had no problems or indications that anything was wrong till this happened. Mechanics have put in a new battery, a crank position sensor, and a cam position sensor on the car. It started once after that, ran for a few minutes then stopped. After that it won't start, even when being jumped. Trying to get a ECM from the dealer. Dealer said the cost is $2,700, and orders are pending until July 1, 2019 because of supplier change. Plus there is a flashing charge of $147 to reset this item for the car. Other internet users have reported having their cars suddenly stop running when driving on the highways also.
