firewall broken clutch won't work

2001 pt cruiser all of a sudden the clutch wont shift and you are left to run off the road or hit someone. when you push the clutch in it wont go all the way and you are just pushing on the firewall instead of shifting the clutch. cant drive the car to dangerous.
