problem #2

Nov 262013

PT Cruiser Limited 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 119,000 miles

The car would not shift well. I changed the camshaft position sensor, and the crankshaft position sensor. Was not the problem. Attempt #2: Changed the transmission solenoid. Fixed 80% of the problem. I hear a "rumor" that the transmission must be reprogrammed by the dealer. I avoid dealers if possible. I used a mechanic in Tijuana, MX, who charged me $60 Labor, + 113.00 part purchased in the US. Another "rumor"- the computer will reprogram itself. Is this wishful thinking?
