problem #2

PT Cruiser Limited 2.8L 4cly

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

Car over heated we replaced water pump, thermostat did timing belt while it was apart. After getting it back on road about 1 month it started over heating. We would pull over then temp would go back down before we could get out to check it. At times we hear gorging noise when turning off the engine. We have taken it back to the shop 4 times and a few times they kept it for several weeks, even flushed the cooling system. we have spent about $1500.00 so far. What's the fix? I even bled the system myself to insure NO AIR is in the system.

PT Cruiser 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 71,800 miles

One day after I purchased the car, I was having Keyless Entry problems. Turned out that was a control module issue and I had to have the battery cables and fuses replaced. I would cut off the radio, lights, and anything but the engine or headlights.

I've replaced the main cooling fan already (motor burned out) as my car overheated in Chattanooga, TN while on vacation to Disney. (Awesome)

I've replaced the AC Switch which caused my AC to go out during the high heat in June 2012.

I replaced the Radiator fluid and the hoses.

I've replace the Thermostat now hoping that this will stop my car from overheating. Just had it done yesterday and it has not solved the problem. I can't drive my PT over 25 minutes or it will overheat. So, I may as well have a donkey for a car.
