Well, I do love my PT! This was the first significant problem I have had with this car in the 5 years that I have had it. It also threw on the Knock sensor code when I had Advanced Auto check my codes. I replaced the cam shaft sensor took it on a test drive, it seems to be running better. We shall see after I have drove it around a lot more. The reason I had looked at the code was because my car had troubles accelerating and would almost buck and shudder when I put my foot on the gas in the day in question and my check engine light came on saying it was the cam shaft sensor and the knock sensor.

the cam shaft sensor went bad, replaced it twice, the dealer said it was because the battery was bad at a cost of $125,00

Failure of one Sensor and Cam at 36,000 miles an unacceptable quality issue. Chrysler had Tech alert about problem and need to replace both sensors for auto repair shops but not to owners.

I have a 2007 PT Cruiser my daughter drives to College each day and this night she was headed home, the car shut down so she called me. I go out and check the car out, it shut off on me so I had the car towed home. So the next day I was able to drive the car to AUTOZONE where they checked the codes and the code for my car was the cam shaft.
