The horn does not work properly and is defected. It only works when the steering wheel turns to the left and sometimes it gets stuck and won't turn off. Won't work while traveling straight or turning right. The horn did not allow me to warn a driver that almost backed into me, this forced me to move away from him in an unsafe position and he still did not see me and kept on backing out. Had the horn worked it would have prevented this issue that almost cause an accident. I drove home to inspect the horn as to why it wasn't working is when I learned that it only worked while sitting still and turning the wheel to the left and at times it stuck and wouldn't turn off. I don't know how long it has been like this because I don't use it very often, until this particular incident happened. Also the passenger air bag shows to be off with air bag light on.

Takata recall. Airbag warning light illuminates randomly and pings. I was told the problem was a sensor in the passenger seat belt and the cost to repair would be at least a couple hundred dollars. Why won't the dealer fix this at the manufacturer's expense, since it appears to be a common complaint?

About a month ago, I was delivering for a pizza company on somewhat wet roads. The guy in front of me had non-functioning tail lights, so I did not see him breaking until it was too late. I hit my brakes and swerved to avoid him, went off the road down a 15-20 foot embankment, and hit a six to eight inch tree hard enough at 35 miles an hour to split it in half and have it fall on top of my car, and to bring me to a dead stop. Even with that force, the airbags did not go off. I had asked Chrysler to look into it, but after three weeks, they basically told me that I did not hit the brakes hard enough because the rate of deceleration necessary to activate them was not present. I cannot believe that this is the only reason, or even the actual reason, they did not go off.

The air bag light came on and the dealer would not work with me. They want to charge $550 dollars to fix the air bag. But said that it may be more to fix it as of March 9th 2015 many air bags have been reported to NHTSA from Chrysler Corp. The whole car is a mess with many brake downs. The car was moving when it broke down.

Driving my vehicle on a highway, approaching the city, with cruise control on. Weather clear and sunny. Highway traffic was light. My speed was at around 70 mph. The driver apparently decided to exit the ramp as it was lined with vehicles. The driver pulled out of ramp and steered to left lane on highway, in front of me. I had to brake suddenly to avoid collision. My car suddenly skidded and spun around once, with rubber burning from tires. My vehicle nearly crashed against the rail as my car skidded for 2nd time to stop. No injuries or property damages. Inspected my car later at gas station. Did not detect any visual problems. Could not figure out why my car skidded and spun around on highway. After the shopping trip, I drove home with no incidents. As I pulled in home, there was smoke coming out of under hood. My car was inspected by two mechanics, from separate time and location, and I was told my cooling fan broke. Possible that the incident leaded the fan to shut down due to mechanical error, the first mechanic said. Cost to replace the cooling fan and labor can run as high as $400. Also, the airbag light, on dashboard, stays on most of time.

The drivers side airbag light had come on and when I brought it to the dealer they informed me that indeed the airbag was not communicating with the rear bumper and I would have to pay four hundred dollars for a new sensor. I was told that the good news was it won't deploy while driving but it won't deploy if it's in an accident. Yeah. The dealership refused to fix it and that it was my problem.

My husband was in his 2007 Chrysler PT CRUISER and was involved in a head on collision, during that accident the ankle air bag deployed and busted his whole ankle out and joint and he had to have a bone graft done and is now still having problems, he has an external fixator on his leg and this has been almost three months after the accident, the cars damage was only to the hood the interior of the car was all still intact and was not at all pushed in, in any way.

On 12/6/10, I was in my 2007 PT CRUISER when I was involved in an accident. I was proceeding straight thru an intersection when a 1993 Nissan Altima turned left in front of me (was coming form direction opposite me), striking me dead center of my front bumper. The crash did the following resulting damage to my PT CRUISER: Radiator smashed, rad. Support broke, all wires on wiring harness cut (including the wire to the airbag sensor--the airbag did not deploy), hole busted into manifold, front bumper assembly torn off, hood bent/caused right-side passenger door to jam, broke starter completely off, and a multitude of other things. As a result of the severe damage, my PT CRUISER was deemed unfixable and was totaled. This wreck occurred at a speed of less than 25 mph! what gets me is that if the speed had been any greater, my passenger and I would have been severely injured/possibly even fatally because of not having airbag protection. The mechanic at the body shop where my car was taken cab confirm this---I have copies of pictures that were taken of the car, along with a copy of the report that was submitted to the insurance companies involved. Something need to be done about the location of the wiring harness/airbag sensor wire so that nothing severely happens to another driver. I will never, never ever have/purchase another Chrysler product---this wiring harness problem needs to be fixed asap! there were no injuries, except for a sore knee (mine), which I did end up going to the hospital later when the pain in my muscles/tendons got to severe---no bones were broken---just sore for several days.

Having issues with airbag/seatbelt light coming on & the dinging- pd. $98. 1st time, took back 2 more time, still not fixed, said warranty is up & does not cover electrical... they cannot find problem & seem not to be interested in trying.. suggest I put new seatbelt in at my expense of $500. To me this is a driving hazard when U have this alarm going off every 20 sec, it can be a driving hazard.... 2007 PT CRUISER - called Chrysler & they will not work with me on this, is getting very frustrating when U buy a new car & have these kinds of problems.
