The temperature light came on so I decided to come home, I wasn't a mile away. When I got to the house the car start smoking and scarred me to death. I called the fire department, by the time they got to the house the car stopped smoking, they thought It was the fuel belt to the radiator.
At any rate it turned out to be the AC fan.
I kept one car for fourteen years and another car for 8 years, never have I had a car when the fan went bad. After talking to two different mechanic I was told that is one of the problems, they have to replace that fan on the PT Cruiser and one mechanic I was talking to said he was replacing one as we spoke. I'm thinking most people who have this problem just get it fixed and don't contact you.
I would like to know if this is a problem with the PT Cruiser, can someone look into this matter and see if this should be a recall? Ironically I just paid my car off and just purchase an extended warranty which is not in force until the 14th of September. I think I should not have to burden this cost, I am not a person who runs the AC all the time and just don't understand how this fan is now faulty. The $400.00 is a estimate. I hope there is some kid of compensation or coupon Chrysler can offer to assist this senior with this outrageous repair.

I have had my air conditioning fixed, once in June of 2012. I have spent over $120 on Freon to find out that my compressor is leaking.
I have spent overall thousands of dollars to prevent my car from stalling due to AC problems.
