Front lower bumper on 2005 Chrysler Pacifica fell off while traveling on Florida turnpike. Heard loud thud while driving, running over something rough. Road ahead was clear, in rear view mirror saw dark strip being run over by numerous cars. Wondered how I missed seeing something so big. Thirty miles later we stopped. Looked at the front of the car, and realized it was our lower bumper. Thank god we were not killed, nor was anyone behind us. Chrysler service has been notified, looked at car. Said, sorry, we can do nothing, the part is missing. Searched internet, found 5 other cases of front lower bumpers falling off Pacifica's while driving. Car only has 26,934 miles on it. Now Chrysler wants $ 811.- to fix the problem? as I said, thank god nobody was killed. Nothing done to fix or replace part. Afraid to put it back on the vehicle unless it happens again with dire consequences.

I have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica and while driving on the interstate the air jam dropped off of the vehicle and I ran over it. At this time I was going the posted speed and there was no weather conditions (heavy snow or rain) which could possibly cause the air jam to drop. Fortunately there was no harm done to either myself, my passengers or the other vehicles nearby. A county sheriff's deputy had found the part on the highway and removed it immediately because it was technically in a construction zone, then the part was disposed. My concern is of the air jam/guard coming off without the vehicle having been hit or affected by any other trauma. The dealer/manufacturer would not cover this under the vehicle waranty because I was unable to produce the part which was disposed of, which - they claim - made it difficult to determine if it was a defect, or not. The dealer also made no attempt to investigate the incident, assuming I was at fault. I eventually brought my vehicle into a body shop where they replaced a great deal of the of parts to the vehicle. These are as follows; one front bumper cover, one ret. Bumper cover, one license bracket, one fog lamp harness, two fog lamps, two fog lamp clips, two inner fenders. Although all of these components were eventually located, some parts were obsolete which required replacements.

: the contact stated while driving 30 mph the front bumper came loose in the middle and scraped the ground and front tires. The vehicle was stopped without incident and the bumper was put back onto the brackets that hold it in place. The dealer was contact and stated drive it in for inspection. Upon inspection the dealer stated it was not under warning and would not repair. While driving from the dealer the bumper came loose again, causing the same problem. The dealer was contacted again and now waiting for the parts.

I was driving on a freeway when my lower bumper fell off for no reason and left my vehicle bumperless. Went to the dealership, they want me to pay for the expenses, say its my fautl. This is a brank new vehicle, I had it since Dec. Of 2004, also I've seen 3 different Pacifica's without the lower bumper's on the street in the past couple of months. The problem is not being resolved.
