car caught on fire car caught on fire

I loved this car. The only problem I had with the car was the right (passenger side) headlight not working.

1 pm to 1:30pm I drove. Then from 2pm to 3:30 pm I drove again.

Can't say I drove too long.

I saw some smoke come out of the engine area. I parked the car and opened the hood and and there was fire at the bottom of the engine. Called 911. In one minute the whole car caught fire.

Pacifica Touring 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25,000 miles

I had purchased a new 2005 Chrysler Pacifica in December 2006. In February 2007 with less than 2000 miles on the car I experienced a stalling problem when making turns and upon restart the car ran very rough. Later on that day after experiencing additional stalling the dashboard lights went out. At this point rather than get myself killed driving this piece of junk I drove home and parked it in my yard. Within 10 minutes the auto alarm went off so I clicked my remote button and it stopped. Well in less than a minute it went off again this time it sounded strange so I looked out the front door and saw smoke. The car was engulfed in flames and was destroyed before my very eyes. Insurance investigated and found a defective Electronic Control Module so Chrysler was notified of the defect. They said since it has not been recalled we disavow any responsibility for the incident and refused to help me get any reimbursement for a deficiency balance due even though I had GAP Insurance. Chrysler does not care about you the consumer. All they want to do is sell you the car and then its your problem. I have found that both Chrysler Corp and the dealership where I purchased the car don't care.I will never buy another Chrysler product again nor should you. No wonder the company is in such bad shape financially. Hope this helps any 2005 Pacifica owner or as a matter of fact any year Pacifica owner . BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!
