Our 2005 Pacifica suddenly and intermittently loses power to all accessories, lights, turn signals, wipers, horn, AC, blower, windows....everything except starter, power seats and door locks. Took car to local trusted mechanic, and he says issue is too hit/miss and refers me to take to local dealer. (Mechanic did not charge for his attempt to troubleshoot) Dealer's write-up man seems annoyed i didn't schedule this breakdown, but takes car in anyway... two days later, I am informed the issue is with the TIPM and the part is hard to come by. No kidding!!! 3 weeks later and still no part, I begin researching TIPM failure. This is a well-known, systemic issue that FCA (Chrysler) has known about since at least 2005 and is not owning up to. With this being a health/safety issue, where are the recalls? Where are the readily available parts to correct this issue? TIPM is a ticking time-bomb in every Chrysler product and no one cares? WTF?? I can't imagine Sergio Marchionne would want to drive at night, in the rain and suddenly lose lights, wipers, anti-lock brakes. Heck, I even read about this module causing the sliding doors on minivans to suddenly open up while under way. That's a really nice "feature" with kids and pets in the car, don't you think? Anyway, why isn't the company owning up and replacing these parts, or at least stepping up production of replacements? Where is the NHTSB?

Complete sudden loss of power of car, steering wheel and and any gas pedal reaction while driving due to PCM module failure. Car started to lunge forward and was no longer drivable. Initially told that there was no part available for 15 days in all of North America. Was traveling back from the southern states to Canada when this happened in Ohio. After 4 days there was a part found. Was stranded and could not leave. Between spending money on costly repairs, hotels, food and a not being able to return to work on time I finally was able to have the car repaired and could travel home.
I reached out to Chrysler Canada asking for reimbursement of all that was spent. I also conveyed my displeasure that a large company producing vehicles should not be allowed to have a parts shortage where the owners and general public are not made aware. I never would have taken this vehicle on a long trip knowing that there are no parts available. This was at the time when Pacificas were no longer being made. Just because this is an older issue, do not kid yourself this car has been reinvented.
Chrysler refused to acknowledge they were at fault and refused to offer any help in several lawyer written letters. Shortly after this the car also finally succumbed to engine cradle rust which our mechanic contacted Chrysler Canada. They answer to this was we are sorry but your warranty just expired*. Expiration was by a few mere months.
We could have crashed and been injured and lost lives with sudden loss of power. Chrysler is robbing people of their hard earned money but lets give them more money because they cannot manage their finances even though they steal from us and lets let them reinvent the Pacifica because it did so well the first time. (I am being extremely sarcastic in case you did not realize). Chrysler should be made more transparent with a mandatory online parts availability access. I will never purchase a Chrysler ever again and will make sure that my friends and family also do not. I believe that Chrysler is the worst of all of the large car manufacturers. Shame on you Chrysler.
