The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated when braking or when coming to a complete stop, the vehicle would stall without warning. In addition, the fuel level gauge would read inaccurate fuel levels. The dealer advised that the vehicle was not under recall and would not provide any further assistance. The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving 65 mph, the fuel gauge went from half a tank to empty. The contact stated that the vehicle would not accept fuel. The check engine light illuminated and the headlights were inoperable. The dealer stated that the fuel pump and wiring harness caused the failures. The fuel pump, headlight bulb, and the wiring harness were replaced; however, the failures continued. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 05V066000 (exterior lighting: Headlights) and NHTSA campaign id number 06V432000 (powertrain: Automatic transmission control module (tcm, PCM)). The failure mileage was 68,000 and current mileage was 69,000. Updated 03/14/08. The consumer stated the fuel gauge was not reading properly

Vehicle fuel indicators very erratic, shows full tank then quickly drops to empty showing no miles to empty and car stalls out. Dealership replaced fuel pumps and problem persists. Keep gas tank above 1/2 to avoid stalling. Dealer does not know what to do. Referring them to safety recall F44 ? fuel pump module and/or reprogram PCM (does not apply to this VIN allegedly). Waiting on response.

For the last two months my car has not wanted to start on the first try. Always have to turn the key a second time. This happens first thing in the morning since the car has sat all night. Also, my fuel gauge is not reading appropriately to the level of gas in the tank. At approximately a 1/4 of a tank the gauge instantly goes to empty. I put in 2 gallons of gas and miraculously the gas gauge reads 1/2 tank. Now those who own a pacifies know that two gallons does not fill your tank half way. This morning my fuel gauge read 3/4 tank and my od read approx. 111 miles for the trip thus far. I wanted to fill it up but the car would only take in 2 gallons. Turned on the car the fuel gauge did not move from 3/4 tank. Drove 25 miles and somehow my gauge read almost full. I have also noticed that at time when I step on the gas pedal my car does not seem to speed up. It is almost as if I was in neutral. I have brought my car back to the dealer on two occasions and have another appointment scheduled and they tell me that they can not duplicate the problem. They claim the car starts fine for them, even if left overnight. Also, they claim to have syphoned gas out of my tank and the gauge reads appropriately to the amount of gas that was in the tank. Approximately a year ago my car did stall as I was taking a left hand turn at a low speed. I immediately contacted the dealer and was told they it normal for a car to occasionally do that. These are very serious and potentially dangerous incident as I have my toddler with me in the car most of the time.

Fuel gauge drops to empty with only 16 out of 23 gallons in tank used. Refilled several times, same result. Today while parked downhill, gauge read completely empty (still had approximately 7 gallons) would not start as if out of gas. Once on an upslope gauge went to 3/8. could not start on down slope.

2005 Chrysler Pacifica has stalled 4 times. Each time the vehicle had been brought to a complete stop at a stop sign, then the vehicle stalled. Vehicle was put in park and restarted. I noticed that each time the vehicle had approximately 1/4 tank of gas or less. The last two times it stalled I put $7 of gas in the vehicle and the gas gauge showed 1/2 tank. Obviously this is not likely as it takes approximately $50 to fill the tank. After approximately 45 miles the gas tank gauge went from 1/2 tank to 1/8 tank in the blind of an eye. Also, vehicle was only getting approximately 200 miles for a full tank. Vehicle is currently at the dealership, however, at this point the dealership is saying that they cannot "recreate" the situation and have a call in to Chrysler to see if they can advise further.
