Like other Pacificas 2004-10 my front subframe is rusting away. The repair cost will be $1500 if I am lucky. Please help!

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed a headlight malfunction. As a result, the fuse box, the headlamp wiring, and the bulb needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Purchased the car Aug, 2014. Previous owner also had same issues. Has been in shop several times, unable to pinpoint cause/remedy situation. Seat controls do not work, remote keyfobs do not work, interior lights, head lamps, no electrical function present unless key is in ignition, in the "on" position. When shutting off the car, all lights on the dashboard light up and the only way to shut them off is to push on and then off the hazard lights. This will cause all electrical to go out, including the head lamps and all interior lights. If you do not turn them off by using the hazard lights, it will kill the battery. We have replaced the fuses in for the seats several times. They work for a bit and then blow out again. The mechanics have gone as far as to replace the wiring assembly and still no remedy. I don't know how there is not a recall on this vehicle.

The headlights intermittently would not work and then stopped working completely. I believe this is due to the wiring harness issue that was recall on many other 05 Pacificas under 05V066000. My VIN does not pull up that it was affected in this recall, but I have this and another issue that I submitted a complaint for that should be covered under the recall. The Chrysler company said even though it appears to be the same issue in the recall, since my VIN does not show to be apart of that recall, they will not do anything to help fix the costly issue. I do not know where else to go for help. I submitted a complaint through Chrysler and they said they would not help unless there was a recall expansion that eventually included my VIN, but not to count on it. I told Chrysler that just because this VIN was missed in the investigation that it was the right thing to do for them to fix it.. I was told they could not and would not help. Thank you..

2005 Chrysler Pacifica. Consumer writes in regards to engine and headlight problems. The consumer stated the vehicle stalled twice, within the last 3 years. Both times, he was making a hard turn, when the engine stopped. He wa able to maintain control of the vehicle and re-started it, without any problem. The vehicle was inspected by a mechanic, who found nothing wrong, other than throttle body build-up, which he cleaned. Also, the headlight would intermittently go out. The bulb did not seem to fit securely in the harness, which caused a short and eventually the bulb blew out. The problem seemed to be more prominent on the passenger side. The driver's side bulb was less than an ideal fit, but there were no problems with it going out. The bulb was replaced numerous times, along with the wiring harness.

Our regular mechanic has determined that the undercarriage of my car is rusted and rotted to the point where it is unsafe to drive. Car was brought in due to electrical failure as mentioned above. I have never received recall notices. I spoke with a Chrysler rep today and there is nothing we can do because its not with in the recall time frame.

I noticed that low beam headlight on drivers side was out so I replaced bulb still did not work. Then I noticed there was a recall on same headlamp for wiring issue. I punched in my VIN # however it says not on my vehicle. Why do some Pacificas from same recall year are not covered and some are ? thanks for taking time to read this email.

Since I purchased my vehicle the front low beam lights have went out numerous times while driving at night. I have had them replaced on several occasions and the problem persists. Recently I have had problems with my battery and was told by pepboys auto shop that something is draining the battery and its possibility is the exterior lighting/headlamps. Even though I continue to replace the headlamps they keep going out and my battery is being drained. After 2 batteries in 3 years I had the alternator checked and it was in good condition. I was told to look up a recall list where I found exterior lighting 05V066000 and I called. I also have had a fuel pump problem that seems to exist and no one can figure out way. After getting it fixed by the Chrysler dealership twice my vehicle will not pass smog because of another leak. I also found out that there are complaints of some similar issues fuel pump/powertrain control module software 06V432000 and I called. Please put these to issues on the recall list so that auto owners will be safe on the road and California's air will not be polluted by the fumes.

While turning into the bank parking lot at 10mph the car just stalled. I was unable to brake or steer out the way. When gas gauge reads empty I am unable to fill the tank with gas as it begins to spill back out. Gas gauge reads 1/2 full when it is really empty? miles to empty sensor incorrect therefore I have no idea when I need gas. Driver side exterior headlamp seems dimmer than the other lamp. After repairing the entire front end(suspension) still sounds like the front end is going to fall apart when driving on Ohio roads. Felt it was necessary to document as I do not feel safe in this car.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection however, nothing was replaced as the dealer deemed that is was unnecessary at that time. Most recently, the headlights would only work intermittently before becoming inoperable. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who stated that the vehicle had already been inspected for the recall defect and offered no further assistance for the failure. The manufacturer was notified who also stated that the vehicle was previously inspected per the recall and offered no further assistance for the failure. The failure mileage was 127,000.

I have previously reported a problem with the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica stalling when turning. The problem has progressively worsened. This month alone, (December 2011) the car has stalled 5 times. I am afraid to drive the car for fear that I will crash when it stalls. There are so many Chrysler Pacifica owners that are reporting the same problem. Along with the stalling issue, the gas pedal sticks and needs to be pushed rather hard. A third problem I have encountered this year is the headlamps "burning out". I have replaced the front left headlamp three this year. I am familiar with the handling instructions for headlamps. I am greatly distressed by these problems, especially the stalling. I have children that I drive around in this car. Please do something about Chrysler's failure to fix this problem.
