Upon fast acceleration or braking there was a noticeable mechanical "clunk" and a shift forward or back in weight/momentum. This was due to two broken/defective motor mounts discovered during the course of a 64,000 mile service maintenance check. Shortly after dropping the car off for service on 2/17/11 I received a call form the dealer alerting me to the fact that when the accelerator is pressed the engine would rise to within two inches of the interior of the hood. The dealer replaced the mounts and showed me the bad parts and explained why they fail and drain their liquid filler. Although my car is well out of warranty I contacted Chrysler to ask them to cover the cost of the repair and they told me that this was typical mechanical wear and tear on the vehicle and is not covered in or out of warranty. I personally view this as defective parts and engineering. I have owned many cars over the years and have not had to replace a motor mount. Further I simply went on to the internet and googled "motor mounts 2007 Pacifica" and came up with many, many cases of the same problems with Pacifica's. I cannot speak to the issue of direct safety issues with this problem but surely with a motor improperly secured the potential for danger is paramount.

We purchased a 2007 Pacifica brand new and are having motor mount issues after 30,000 miles. When we took the vehicle in and notified the dealer, they stated that the motor mounts are bad and that we'd have to take the car to the Chrysler dealer from whom we purchased the car. Unfortunately, they have since gone out of business. The first incident occurred a few weeks after we purchased the vehicle, I noticed rust/pit marks all over the exhaust system (under warranty completely replaced). The second incident occurred when I continued to notice the driver side floor was wet after rain or a car wash. Front windshield gasket needed to be replaced (under warranty repaired). The third incident the car was shifting hard brought it in was told it's normal no problem found. Fourth incident the car continued to shift hard, brought it in again and was told the motor mounts were broken (under warranty replaced). Fifth incident noticed the rear bumper fading compared to the other bumpers. Told it did not have the proper sealer on it (under warranty repaired). Sixth incident, noticed left rear molding panel loose. Found clip to fasten the molding was broken and defective, (under warranty replaced). Seventh incident, noticed the right rear molding panel loose. Found clip to fasten the molding was broken and defective, (under warranty replaced). All this with less than 30,000 miles. Thank god for the warranty.

I have a 2007 Pacifica, it started shaking bad. Took it into the dealer and the motor mounts where replaced. At the sametime the torque converter was also replaced. Because the torque converter would unlock when given a little we took the car back three times for this problem. The dealer says that this was normal"??" but we don't think so.

The vehicle has 37,000 miles on it. According to the dealership, the rear motor mount is broken and needs to be replaced. I find it hard to believe that a motor mount would break at under 40,000 miles.
