While driving at low speed or accelerating from being previously idle, the oil pressure warning light and the traction control indicator will simultaneously light up. Upon doing so, the engine will lose all power and shut off. This requires the driver to put the car into neutral or park to start the vehicle again. This problem occurring while driving has the potential to cause an accident at no fault of the driver from this loss of control.

My engine light has been on since I got the care in may of 2012-, I have always had problems with air going low on the drivers side front tire, and recently my steering has become hard to move even though it has power steering has fluid in it. At times the vehicle will shut off when I back out or come to a stop at a light or stop sign.

I bought the incident date June 4; 2014 consumer location union town; oh vehicle a Chrysler Pacifica 2007 VIN#2A8gm68X37R engine 4.0 on September 7, 2016 here in hallandale beach, Florida and about 200 miles ago the same reported complaint listed on your NHTSA site as summary of complaint has just begun which is that the electronic stability control, brake assist system, and traction control warning lights illuminated currently except (there is an addenum) the brake master cylinder motor component has activated itself with a whirlling sound that vibrates throught to the brake level reservoir even when the key switch to the engine (run) is switched off; and without diconnecting the battery terminal; the brake fluid distribution motor stayes on and drains the battery; vehicle would not start untill battery is recharged so the terminal has to be removed when stiopped (parked) for short or length of time. Unique problem; I'm trying to solve this myself as a civil engineer by/and upkeep owner of the vehicle; even with auto mechanic mechanical assistance to include the manufacture; Chrysler.

The oil cooler rusted out and liquid poured from it. Over heated terribly. Part is on national backorder and no one anywhere ha's this part. Driving, computer malfunction while driving 55mph threw my car into limp mode. Pulling out of gas station, driving maybe 4mph, ABS, traction and throttle body light came on and brakes froze. Had to throw my car into park to avoid hitting pole. Refuses to turn over. Hate this car nothing but problems!

My daughter brought me this car for my birthday 2007. I have been complaining since 2007 about the ignition. I was told it was the key. I purchase a new key, well the key is not the problem. I have been in the middle of the street and the car would just shout off. I keep replacing batteries after batteries. I finally found out it is the ignition, the way I found out is a certain way I had to turn the key for the car to start. I really learn to love my car but I have so many issues I don't know whether I would advise anymore to purchase one. I have had many issues until I became very dissatisfied with the company. I would appreciate if you take a look at this problem. Thanks the car would just cut off in the middle of the street. Unexplainable.

I pulled into a gas station for fuel and upon applying brakes, felt a slight shudder. After turning off the engine and fueling up, I started the car and put it in drive and it immediately shut the engine off. I tried a second time, same result. I was able to drive in reverse to a parking spot, and continued trying to drive forward, the engine would shut down each time. I noticed the electronic stability control light on the instrument panel was on. Not knowing what it meant, eventually called a tow service for help. Fortunately, home was only 45 minutes away. This is the same car that we have reported to this site for problems with the fuel system, that is, fuel gauge not working properly and also great difficulty in filling the fuel tank!!!

The traction control and esp lights have been on for months, dealer states that the problem is the clockspring, but part is not available. So currently the esp and traction control, both of which are safety features are not functioning and I can not repair cause part is not readily available, I feel there should be a recall to cover this safety concern.

Warning lights on the ip indicate a failure, illuminating "esp/bas" [electronic stability program/brake assist system]. three dealers ran the diagnostic codes and have told me there is a "clockspring" failure in the steering angle sensor, which needs to be replaced. This is an extremely dangerous product failure since I could lose control of the Chrysler Pacifica under extreme braking or in case of a skid on a slippery road surface. Chrysler initially said they do not have this part available. Later, they claimed I would be able to get the part - in January - the February- now March. Still no part available. Chrysler must be compelled to recall the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica for the safety of the drivers and passengers - and fix this dangerous defect.

I have a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica with a safety problem. Warning lights on the ip indicate a failure, illuminating "esp/bas? [electronic stability program/brake assist system]. I have had three dealers run the diagnostic codes and other tests tell me there is a ?clockspring" failure in the steering angle sensor, which needs to be replaced. Chrysler will not provide repair replacement parts to the dealer so this safety problem can be corrected. This is an extremely dangerous product failure since I could lose control of the Chrysler Pacifica under extreme braking or in case of a skid on a slippery road surface. Since Chrysler is not willing to correct this safety defect, they must be compelled to recall the Chrysler Pacifica for the safety of the drivers and passengers.

While driving approximately 35 mph, car lost power and steering became very difficult. After reaching a stop I put the car in park and was able to restart it. This has now happened on 5 separate occasions, with children in the vehicle. Dealership service was not helpful in remedying this problem. Additionally, despite recalls for this problem in previous years, there is no apparent solution for this. This problem has occurred both in my neighborhood and on surface streets, which make this a significant safety hazard as there is minimal (if any) opportunity to get the vehicle to a safe location to re-start. I have had regular service to the vehicle and it has been used primarily for work and errands. However, the motor mounts have had to be replaced 3 times and this latest issue has compounded the problem.

While driving at speeds of 10-35 mph, the oil and esp lights would illuminate, then the engine will simply cut off / stall. We have to put on the emergency flasher while in traffic, put the vehicle in neutral or park and restart. No engine light. We brought the Pacifica in to the Dodge dealership 5 times and they could not find any codes. They tried updating the software on the ECM which did not help. Then, the dealership said the motor mounts were bad and the torque of the engine was pulling on the front wiring harness(ES), causing the stalling issue. We had all 3 (front, rear, upper) engine/motor mounts replaced and the issue still happens every time we try to drive the car. The dealership has the car again and said the front motor mount still looks like it is bad even though it was replaced 4 days ago. Based on what I've read in the NHTSA database and the Dodge dealership telling me that motor mounts go out on a lot of Pacificas, this is happening to a lot of 2007 Pacifica owners. Chrysler should absolutely recall the motor mounts on this vehicle and provide a more reliable replacement motor mount with a robust design at no charge to all Pacifica owners. My wife has reported that she has almost been rear ended several times as a result of suddenly stalling while driving. To have this vehicle completely stall out while my wife is taking my 3 kids to school or other activities could cause a crash and is potentially life threatening. I just want this issue to be resolved. The Pacifica is a well designed car and we love the interior but we need reliable transportation.

The car continues to stall at low speeds. We have taken to mechanic and they do not find any service alerts, and weren't able to duplicate on a test drive. It is starting to pick up in frequency to where it is doing it every other day now. I also called the service group at the chrsyler dealer I purchased it from, and they said they can only do what I had already done with the other mechanic shop. I went to the Chrysler forum to post and see if anyone else had experienced this, and see numerous postings of this issue over the years. I am very concerned with the safety of my family, as when the car stalls, it locks up and I lose control. I have to pull over and restart.
