The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. After the contact added fuel to the vehicle, fuel leaked out of the tank. Thirty minutes later, the fuel gauge displayed the correct amount of fuel, but then changed to empty. Also, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 202,000. Updated 06/29/16 updated 07/06/16.

I was stopped at a red light. When I put my foot on the accelerator to resume driving, the car began to shake and then it cut off. I had to pull over as quickly as possible. If a car had been driving behind me fast, I could have gotten hit in the back which could have been traumatic or even fatal. I had to have the car towed. The dealership that it was taken to diagnosed the major problem as the 2 fuel pumps needed replacing; in addition to other items. The vehicle only has 126,000 miles. There are other people having the same problem with the Pacifica (2006 and 2008 models as well). Chrysler needs to admit that their fuel pumps are faulty and replace them before a fatality happens and, in addition to replacing the pumps, they are faced with lawsuits.

The fuel gauge is not showing correctly. It reads that the fuel tank is half full then it suddenly drops to empty. The miles to empty gauge is not calculating correctly either. You can not tell how far you really can go before the car will run out of gas. When I attempt to fill the fuel tank, it will not let the fuel flow into the fuel tank. It stops as if it is full, but it is not.

The fuel pumps in the gas tanks stop working. They wont pump fuel from one tank to the other. My gas gage shoes full then when it get a little below half im out of gas because the pumps are not pumping gas from one side to the other side. I had new pumps put in 2,000 miles ago and the went out already. Chrysler need to recall this problem. I'm not the only one that is having this problem. We as Chrysler owners cant afford to pay for this all the time. I know for a fact there is a Chrysler dealer that said he has them coming in like a revolving door. I cant trust the car to go on long trips. I love the car other than this problem. Thank you for reading this. I hope something get done. I called the Chrysler customer service center but got nowhere with them.

After my 2007 Chrysler Pacifica fuel gauge gets below 1/2 tank, the gauge starts dropping at an alarming rate. If I drive 1 mile it reacts indicating as much as a 10 mile drop. While sitting at a stop light the gas gauge jumps around between 2 and 3 miles differences. I do not get a full 20 gallon drive from my vehicle. I can fill up the car but once the gauge indicates it's empty the car will not start. I logged it as only showing 320 miles and going empty, when full the gauge indicates 400 miles. This reading is changing now on a weekly basis. I have looked on the internet and other people are complaining about the same problem with this car.

The vehicle shuts off while driving at low speeds mostly it happens when going around curves. I took it to the dealership they were not able to find any problems with it they just said they could replace the 2 fuel pumps for $900 but could not guarantee that would fix the problem. I did not have the pumps changed. When the vehicle shuts off loss of power assist steering is lost and power assist brakes making it dangerous to navigate to a stop to restart it.

When I started the car, the check engine light came on and the word 'gascap' appeared in place of the car's mileage. I read the owner's manual and followed directions to reset the message after tightening gas cap. It had no effect. I went to autozone and had them run a free diagnostic scan which returned the diagnosis of: Evaporative emission system leak. I installed a new gas cap and followed directions to reset message. The check engine light and 'gascap' message remain.

I took my 2007 Chrysler in because of fuel gauge not reading properly, dealer said I had bad fuel pumps, changed pumps and seals approximately $1100 gauge still not working dealer claims bad module paid $350 gauge still not working, dealer said it could be battery cable changed that still not working, dealer said it have a bad fuel tank, changed tank fuel gauge still erratic, now car cuts off for no reason, you cannot put gas in the car without the car acting as if it is full, fuel gauge still does not work and car displaying more issues now than I started with and I have had the motor mounts at least 5 times since I had the car. Dealer even said fuel gauges sometimes jump around.I feel like I have been taken total advantage of, it appears I have been sold a defective car and no one wants to take responsibility for it. Look at the hundreds of similar complaints and Chrysler does nothing.

2007 Chrysler Pacifica. I can only put less than 2 gallons of gasoline in may car at a time. Gas splashes out when trying to put gas in as if it is full. Fuel gauge not reading accurate as it drops down to "E" after it reaches 1/2 tank. Engine light remains on. Took vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed to replace my right side fuel pump and fuel gauge sender. After replacing both parts the problem still exist. I also took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test and was unable to get a definite answer to the problem, so I paid the diagnostic fee and the problem still exist.

A check engine light illuminated and the dtc code indicated a fault in fuel evap system. A smoke test on the system revealed that the plastic tube on the fuel pump had snapped off requiring a fuel pump replacement. The fuel pumps are connected by a hose which sits on top of the fuel tank. The connection point at the on the primary fuel pump snapped off. The fuel pump, and tank is mounted above the exhaust system, so it's probably not an ideal situation to have defective parts leaking small amounts of gasoline on top off hot exhaust. Also, after completing repairs my gas mileage improved by 10%. I have saved the defective part incase its needs for failure analysis.

A check engine light illuminated and the dtc code indicated a fault in fuel evap system. A smoke test on the system revealed that the plastic evap tube on the fuel pump had cracked requiring a fuel pump replacement. Upon reassembly it was determined that over time the rubber evap hose that runs between the two fuel pumps was either too short of had shrunk in length over time stressing the plastic tube causing it to break. When reconnecting the rubber hose it was apparent that the hose was too short because when the hose was reconnected the evap fitting was pulled several degrees off center. There are two fuel pumps on this model year vehicle. On one pump the plastic tube has a 90 degree bend and the defective pump plastic tube does not have a 90 degree bend. This fuel pump was a back ordered item indicating numerous fuel pump are being replaced. Two Chrysler mechanics, who did not work on my car, stated this is a common problem and they have replaced a number of fuel pumps recently. Chrysler does not cover this repair under their extended warranty and no tsb's or recalls have been issued for this problem.

My car won't start at least 4 times a week. You will be driving and it almost stalls. The gas tank fluctuated and does not read the right amount. Also when in reverse it has taken off on it's own at a very high rate of speed. I have had it into the dealership 25 day and 15 times in 9 months and they have replaced the map sensor, the PCM & BCM, the fuel injectors, several sensors and filters all to no avail and this was all just for the not starting. We sent in the lemon law paperwork and Chrysler refused to call us back via the dealership and refuses to talk to us when we call the 800 number. Looking at other forums there are several people with this same problem and Chrysler also ignores their complaints.
