After fueling, especially if the take is full. The engine will die several times in the first 5 or more miles driven. Of course, this also means no power steering. You may be turning at an intersection, on a freeway or just traveling on a surface street. Still, you are without power and no power steering putting the car and occupants in danger. Usually, putting the car in neutral and starting gets you going again, at least until the next event. We have had as many a 5 such events on a 4.5 mile drive home form the gas station. This has now progressed. The last fill up, the nozzle cut of several times and restart over and over to finally fill the take. We knew it could take more fuel, Ultimately it took on 15 Gallons. This time, even after the second day and about 20 miles on the car it will still die at random, especially at idle, say at a stop light. Also with this phenomenon, when the gas gouge gets to just below a half of a tank reading, it may suddenly drop to (E) empty. This is not a good feeling, even though we know it is a bogus reading. The gauge may or may not read correctly at about a half tank the next time the car is started, after an overnight rest. We suspect this may relate to the saddle bag fuel tank system. Currently the check engine light is on, solid, not flashing. However, this problem after a fill up has occurred when there was no check engine light active. Our mechanic is aware of the problems and we are scheduling a visit again and will make sure he is aware of all of these issues. Safety issue, yeah, like suddenly rear-ended or t boned with loss of power and almost impossible steering without power steering. Thankfully, the emergency flashers work fine.

Esp bas light came on and the steering wheel started to move left to keep the car going straight. Suddenly the right front tire hit the wheel housing and stopped. Upon inspection it was revealed the the cradle holding the front suspension had rusted and broke off. I was driving on a two lane state road and was able to pull to the shoulder.

My engine light has been on since I got the care in may of 2012-, I have always had problems with air going low on the drivers side front tire, and recently my steering has become hard to move even though it has power steering has fluid in it. At times the vehicle will shut off when I back out or come to a stop at a light or stop sign.

My car stops running shortly after driving within a few minutes with zero warning. When this happens the power steering and breaks stop functioning. I have been able to successfully been able to restart the car and continue to my destination. This creates a defiant safety hazard and has happened randomly on multiple occasions. The stalling started at the time when the check engine light and 'gascap' warning message came on - permanently. The mechanics have been unable to fine the problem and there are no computer code readings. Has there been a recall for this problem from Chrysler?

My husband was driving the car 2 days after we purchased it. He was coming down a slight incline and trying to yield and turn at an intersection. The power steering went out and the brakes locked up so he could not stop or control the direction of the vehicle. It was very scary with young children in the back seats! no warning lights or sounds alerted him to the failure of the steering or brakes.

Bought in 2007 used, 16000 miles. Last two years, stalls sometimes at low speeds. Loses all power, will not steer, cannot brake. Occurs too randomly to predict. Very dangerous when making turns to join traffic flow as cannot stop or steer car while rolling. Latest example 12/7/15 - nearly at a stop on slight decline, ready to merge with street traffic from parking lot. Suddenly lost power and brake stopped responding and locked up. Steering locked up. Was slowly rolling into oncoming traffic.

Have owned a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica for almost 3 years now - bought it used and enjoy most features of this car having waited for a few years to purchase one after having recurring (and costly) repair issues with my previous Chrysler (cirrus.) however, for the past year, I've experienced intermittent stalling issues with my car - while operating/driving and I am now terrified of the what "ifs" since I thought we'd resolved the issue just over a month ago when replacing my egr valve. This was a huge expense particularly since I've been underemployed for a while now, but then again today while driving with my young daughter the issue happened again!! I too have had my share of being inconvenienced by taking to multiple mechanics and repair shops saying they need to "mimick" the issue in order to find the problem. Since this issue occurs intermittently, how is that exactly suppose to happen"?" Chrysler corporate really needs to step up and address this issue asap since this appears to be a major issue and possible defect on the products themselves used when manufacturing this car and/or a huge defect of this particular make and model of vehicle, in general! Chrysler - please hear us before you all are faced with an even larger penalty than the ones used to recently bail you out - please don't make a further mockery of the process by ignoring the voice of your consumer on such a major health and safety concern. To echo the words of another complaint I came across in my research of this specific issue... the price to replace a defect is much less than that of a human life!!

The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving at an unknown speed, the steering wheel veered to the right. The vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times for the failure. The dealer replaced the bushing, the cradle, and the motor mounts; however, the remedy failed to repair the failure. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 67,000.

The vehicle was turning into parking space, acted like the traction control engaged, power steering function was lost. Vehicle was put in park, engine turned off. Restarted at that time. Owner assumed incident resulted from a slip on fresh rain concrete and resulted in traction control engagement due to sensitivity of traction control feature. This is really not necessary at < 10 mph. Second incident: One week later to the day on July 10, 2015, the vehicle rolled to a stop on residential road. The vehicle passed over an insignificant, small pile of dead loosed grass on right side of vehicle during its rolling to a stop mode. Vehicle steering locked up and engine stalled. Owner made numerous attempts to restart but had to wait 10 minutes before vehicle would restart and park it. Dealership has been notified-appointment scheduled to diagnose.

Purchased the Pacifica touring AWD in September/October, 2013. It was in fabulous condition. A couple of months later, I experienced my first of eight occurrences wherein the vehicle shut off without warning. Once the engine shut off, power brakes and power steering didn't function properly, likely because the engine was no longer running. Five of these eight occurrences have been within one mile of my residence. Additionally, it occurred once in a parking lot, once in an intersection, and once as I was getting onto an interstate highway. A few of the occurrences almost resulted in accidents. I was at the mercy of the other drivers in those cases. I have six grandchildren. I'm hesitant to take them on trips because I have no confidence in my Pacifica's safety and reliability. My vehicle safety complaint seems eerily similar to numerous other owner's 2007 Pacifica safety complaints. I pray Chrysler will investigate this issue to determine what is causing the engine failure before a precious life is lost. Chrysler, please identify the cause and notify the owners of the fix soonest. It makes no sense to continue neglecting these safety claims. I'm certain $$$ is causing your hesitation to investigate; however, it will seem like pennies compared with the cost you will undoubtedly pay due to negligence in the event of injury or fatality. Thanks in advance for hearing my concern, diagnosing the problem, identifying the solution, and quickly implementing your plan to repair the affected vehicles. Safety has a price, but human life is priceless.

Power steering fails completely for about 30 seconds or more. This occurs when the vehicle travels through any water on the road that may splash into the engine compartment. The steering belt gets wet and will slip (making a screeching noise until it spins off the water and dries). The power assisted steering will stop completely not allowing the driver to maneuver the vehicle until the power steering is restored. This problem will cause the driver not to be able to change the direction of the vehicle in any direction to complete a turn or avoid a collision! it is very dangerous and can occur without warning. We are looking into the problem. It maybe that a splash guard was left off and not replace during a previous service. This has not been confirmed to be the fix. We will update this post once this is confirmed to be the fix.

This vehicle tends to stall at or below 35 mph. Have been to independent mechanics and Chrysler and no one can seem to figure out why it stalls. When it stalls there is a loss of control of the car and is very dangerous especially when in rush hour traffic. My wife drives this vehicle along with my 3 children. I have seen numerous complaints on this matter and I am quite surprised there has not been a recall.

This is not the first time that my car has stalled out while going under 40 mph, also when making a turn it will stall and I have no brakes or power steering! it is very scary. I almost got hit because of this issue!! I have researched it and found that there are numerous complaints about the Chrysler Pacifica's stalling under the same conditions as mine. There needs to be a recall or something needs to be done. Especially since it is my family car and I have two daughters under the age of 3. I do not want or need a fatality wreck to occur before they do something! I am extremely scared to drive now and it is our only vehicle!

When driving, our 07 Pacifica will randomly lose power and there will be no brakes and no steering. I have to put it in neutral and restart the engine while the car is still in motion. This has occurred on the freeway and also around town. It is most noticeable when I am approaching a corner or stop light/ stop sign and slowing down to turn or to stop. On the freeway, I was not slowing down or preparing to stop when it happened. The check engine light and etc light (electronic throttle control light) come on when it happens. We have taken our car to non-Chrysler dealerships/auto shops over the summer because it's less expensive to scan. The car was in the shop three times this summer, and the problem was not corrected. This is a frightening occurrence and we may have to take it in to our Chrysler dealership anyway.

I have had multiple issues with my 2007 Chrysler Pacifica-from the beginning a popping and clicking noise from the transmissions/results from dealership motor mounts went bad repaired several times over the years. Another issue is my car is just go dead while driving on the freeways/streets etc. I took it to the dealership and they have not been able to repair or see the issue. I know it's something wrong and this is scary driving this car.

The vehicle dies--especially when coasting toward a stop sign or light, or down hills--usually at lower speeds, though several times at speeds of 40 mph. The power brakes and power steering cease. The only option is to shift into neutral and restart the car. Going around corners at speeds higher that 25 is difficult, this car has been in the shop several times for the same thing; they can't really find anything wrong but have charged me over $2500 this year alone. I'm afraid to drive this as this has been happening on nearly a daily basis. And taking it to the dealer seems futile. Is this part of the recall? I'd hate to see my wife or someone else injured or killed because the safety systems on the vehicle stopped working at the same time--such as happened with the GM products. Updated 3/3/2015

While driving approximately 35 mph, car lost power and steering became very difficult. After reaching a stop I put the car in park and was able to restart it. This has now happened on 5 separate occasions, with children in the vehicle. Dealership service was not helpful in remedying this problem. Additionally, despite recalls for this problem in previous years, there is no apparent solution for this. This problem has occurred both in my neighborhood and on surface streets, which make this a significant safety hazard as there is minimal (if any) opportunity to get the vehicle to a safe location to re-start. I have had regular service to the vehicle and it has been used primarily for work and errands. However, the motor mounts have had to be replaced 3 times and this latest issue has compounded the problem.
