I was driving on the highway when my vehicle began to shake and became undriveable. Before this incident I had brought the vehicle to the mechanic for a check engine light showing that there was a misfire and coils needed to be replaced. The coils and spark plugs were replaced but on this day the misfire caused the van to shake on the highway before becoming undriveable. I could not pull over and was left in the middle of the highway unable to drive my vehicle. This created a huge safety hazard as cars were driving by at 55mph and I could not pull over to the shoulder then had to wait for a tow truck. I then had this problem fixed for the 3rd time when on my way home from work today 8/11/22 the van once again began shaking, check engine light came on and misfiring, luckily this time it was as I pulled into my driveway. There was no warning, the check engine light appeared as the van began to shake right before stopping and locking up. This problem has been confirmed with a dealer. The dealer said the issue was the first mechanic used -??after market parts-?? however when I spent the extra money to have the -??factory-?? parts put in by the dealer, the problem also occurred. So I spent additional money to have the same result.

WE PURCHASED A 2017 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A RED LIGHT, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND THE ONBOARD COMPUTER DISPLAYED A TRANSMISSION CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE WAS NO TRANSMISSION CODE AND THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE CONTACT FUELING THE VEHICLE WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS TURNING LEFT AT AN INTERSECTION AT 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AGAIN AND STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. AFTER 5-6 SECONDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD AND ACCELERATED AS THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AGAIN, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOUR TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE issues. Passenger side rear door opening and closing repeatly. Steering stiff and steering cloud locking and jerking the car to the right. Fail to accelerate. Lurking forward, .

The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle started shuddering. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic twice where it was diagnosed that cylinder #4 was misfiring. The independent mechanic replaced the spark plugs, ignition coils, and fuel injectors. However, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that the engine needed to be disassembled to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

Stalling and loss of power, the car computer reader code is P0305. 5th cylinder misfire, and a P0300 cylinder misfire. 2017 pacifica with 62,000 miles and there are tons of people with the same issue around the same mileage. Funny how the drivetrain warranty ends at 55,000 miles and all of these Pacificas are failing at 60,000 - 80,000 with blown headgaskets or bad cylinders. $2000-$12000 depending on what blew.

I have a blown head gasket and my car has been in the shop for over 3 months because the part is not available. The car has never overheated. I'm so frustrated as I know this is a known problem with these cars. The car is at the shop, sitting in pieces because of the lack of parts available.

At 57,000 miles my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica was having a rough cold start. Engine light comes on and take it to mechanic, Cylinder 4 misfire. Spark plugs, manifold gaskets, and ignition coil replaced. Receive car back, still starting rough and check engine light appears again. Call Chrysler dealership for an appointment. They are backed up in a week. At that point the van was not driven, and dies. vehicle gets towed to the dealership- bad starter and possibly another cylinder misfire. Starter replaced, car rough starts and coolant starts leaking into cylinder black smoke coming from exhaust. Cylinder 3 misfired and now being told that either the head gasket needs to be replace or the cylinder head because it may be cracked or warped.

Car started having a ticking noise above the dashboard, the ticking noise started a few months ago but did not affect the driving ability of the vehicle. A few weeks ago I got an engine misfire error. After the misfire the car then quickly deteriorated and stopped turning over but the electrical still worked. I had the car towed to the dealership and it looks like it will require a new engine or long block. The dealership is having the same errors we had at home but they were able to put in a new starter to get it to turn over. The dealership is currently taking a part the engine to determine what all needs to be replaced. We were lucky that this issue started when we were leaving our home. Had this engine failure happened during a drive on the freeway it may have been determinantal to me and my family.

The vehicle stalled on the road in the middle of an intersection and then again in a turn lane a few hours later in the same day. The car was in drive, rumbled near the front of the vehicle, lurched forward, and then the engine cut out and would not restart. Trying to start the car again made a REVVVVVV-putta-putta-putta noise and there was not any control of the ignition on my end. It revved up and then hovered around 1/2 of 1 RPM on the dash then it would cut out and ask me to put it in park and start again. Hitting the engine start button did nothing and the dash electronics seemed to cut in and out. Each time I went to restart the car, it went from being in drive to stalling to needing 5+ minutes before it could be driven again, this happened without warning. My family and myself were in the car when we were first stuck in the middle of an intersection. If traffic had been heavier there would have been no warning and I would just be stuck with no way to move the car out of the way quickly. AND with electric systems malfunctioning I'm not confident that the airbags would deploy effectively in the event of a crash should we be left stranded at another intersection after the car stalls. I drove the car to the dealership and on my way a very similar incident occurred, i used my phone to record the incident this time and while the car started right up in the dealer's driveway, I was able to say "NO it literally stalled on my way here, look at this video" The video is just 5 minutes of me sitting at another intersection with people honking and cursing at me as they drive by. The car starts up, revved up then dies immediately. Earlier, the AUTOSTART light came up, but the second time the CHECK ENGINE light was on and off again. The vehicle is at the dealership now and we are hoping it will be repaired, but (looking over other complaints here) I'm very worried about the safety of my family and other drivers with these vehicles on the road.

Driving down the road and suddenly engine shut off without warning, lost power immediately, RPMs went to zero, dash said "Shift to Park." Tried to pull over, didn't get completely out of the way because no power from engine so car had to swerve around us. Shifted to park, tried to restart, didn't work until third time to restart car so that I could drive home. Ridiculously unsafe for the car engine to just shut off without warning in middle of road. Looks like this is the same recall Chrysler tried to fix years ago. Someone is going to die from this defect. Thank God I was on a local road and not the highway when this happened. This car model should be taken off the road immediately.

The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving 18 MPH and approaching a stop sign and depressing the brake pedal, she began to hear an abnormal noise and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle shut off while driving at a slow speed, 10 - 15 mph. Lost complete power to vehicle as we where making our way through an intersection, it was very difficult to steer and maneuver. We made it across but only to put those behind me at risk. Panicked, I had not realized that on screen a message appeared on the instrument cluster, Put in Park and Start. The vehicle started right up and we were moving again. For more than 2 years we have been dealing with intermittent hard shifting and the dealer, because they are not able to replicate they say they can't diagnose to be able to fix. I don't know if it is related or not but I thought I mention it since its a common customer complaint in the Pacifica Forums. We've learned to live with hard shifting can't really afford to buy a new car now, but this stopping while driving was the tip of the iceberg. I can't have this happen on a freeway with a family of 6. Not safe. This is also a common topic on the Pacifica Forums.

Since I purchased this vehicle used less than a year ago, I have had an issue with rough shifting or the vehicle feeling like it loses power then lurches when it finally shifts. Now over the past couple months I have had it in the shop 4 times, the 4th time it's at a Chrysler dealership. Check engine light comes on and is blinking, car is shaking and knocking terribly. the shaking does subside after you drive a minute and the engine warms up but the problem has progressively gotten worse each time the light comes back on as I do have to continue driving it. Now the dealership states there is condensation in the cylinder, indicated either a blown head gasket or a warped cylinder head but there is no way to know without tearing the whole engine out of the car and tearing it apart. I'm also told that with labor for a new engine from Chrysler I'm looking at about $11,000!!! and due to supply chain issues we don't know how long it will take to get the parts. I've had this vehicle less than a year and I'm over $1000 in on repairs already that have not fixed the overall problem. HELP

I have not gotten into an accident. I have noticed for a long time my van transmission seems to have problems shifting. I will be starting to accelerate, and when i reCh speeds between 25-55 it often feels like I have no power (more often with time) I can hear the van "revving" bur not increasing speed at the rate it should be. Then all of a sudden the transmission feels like it "catches" and it lurches forward. Making it feel like the van us going to literally fall apart, or have the enginefall out. It is a very scary!! And it is getting worse even though when this happens I have started to take my foot off the gas because it I feel something terrible will happen. However taking my foot off the gas, especially when merging is extremely dangerous (people are so agressive driving these days) and I continue to be put in dangerous situations because of this issue. I know other people are complaining about this so I do not know why a recall has not been submitted! We need this fixed. Please help us!! Also anothwr issue.. Cruise control speeds up the vehicle when going downhill. It does not ever stop from accelerating! I'm aware and always take cruise control off on big hills. But this I'd also very dangerous as sometimes I have to tap the break because the cruise won't come off with the button when this happens.

The battery constantly dies. If we go 1 day without driving, we have to jump it. The screen will malfunction and black out. The sliding doors will not close requiring us to close them several times before they actually close properly. We-??ve had issues with the emergency brake automatically engaging after some of the battery issues as well without indicating the parking brake is on. We-??ve replaced the first battery after roughly 3.5 years, and still the battery that is less than 1 year old dies constantly. We-??ve had 2 garages do diagnostics and replace parts (1 being a dodge/Chrysler dealer) and even after thousands of dollars spent to fix the problem, a week later the battery is dead again. It-??s an endless cycle. We-??ve also experienced jerking from the transmission while driving that did not go away after software fixes. The dates and info below are for the most recent time the battery died, which is probably the 50th time it-??s died in the last year.
